Vanessa Grimaldi recently revealed that she suffered her second miscarriage in less than a year. The Bachelor Nation star shared this news on her Instagram account through a carousel post titled "When the Heart Breaks Again: Miscarriage No. 2" on Monday, June 9, 2025.
Grimaldi, 37, expressed the feeling of confronting such a loss again, particularly after discovering it during an ultrasound appointment. In the post, she wrote:
"I'm left with the silence of what could have been. Again."
Vanessa Grimaldi, who was briefly engaged to Nick Viall during season 21 of The Bachelor, is married to Joshua Wolfe, with whom she shares a 2-year-old son, Winston. In her Instagram post, she shared how being in her son's room helped her cope with the loss.
"Sitting in the quiet here, surrounded by reminders of his laughter, love, and life. It's comforting in a way I can't quite explain," the post read.
Grimaldi expressed her gratitude for Winston while also mourning the baby she never met. She reflected on memories from when he was a newborn, which she had imagined experiencing again. She wrote:
"It adds another layer to the grief, one that's heavier, more complicated, and harder to put into words."
Grimaldi described her current state as having a mind that felt "foggy and full all at once," noting that she had been keeping busy to cope. She wrote how grief "sneaks in, even in the middle of gratitude."
Vanessa Grimaldi thanked her husband for doing one thing "just for [her]", which was buying her an iced cappuccino. She said that it was special because she had stopped having it after learning of her pregnancy. She called the gesture "the first step back to [her]self" and a "small moment of comfort in a sea of ache."
She ended her message by reaching out to others experiencing similar loss, offering love, comfort, and solidarity. She wrote:
"I see you, I'm grieving with you. You're not alone."
Vanessa Grimaldi's candid journey through repeated loss
While opening up about her miscarriage, Vanessa Grimaldi included a "gentle reminder" about the prevalence of miscarriage. The caption read:
"About 1 in 4 known pregnancies ends in miscarriage, and many more happen before a pregnancy is even confirmed."
Grimaldi said that while acknowledging this statistic doesn't ease the pain, knowing the grief is shared by many "can be a quiet kind of comfort." This announcement came nine months after Vanessa Grimaldi revealed her first pregnancy loss in September 2024.
At that time, she shared some details of her healing journey following her miscarriage. She described it in an Instagram post as "a hard yet bonding process" that helped her feel less alone and ultimately heal. Grimaldi ended the 2024 post with a similar message of support. It read:
"If you're reading this and need someone to listen to your story, I am here for you. You are not alone. It is more common than you think, and I promise, with time, you will regain hope again."
Since announcing her second miscarriage, Vanessa Grimaldi has continued sharing her experience through follow-up posts. She has posted two videos titled "Day 1 of navigating a second miscarriage" and "Day 2 of navigating a second miscarriage," documenting her journey.
