The finale of Jeopardy! Masters, which aired on June 4, 2025, saw Yogesh Raut emerge victorious with a final total of $41,601. Despite winning, he was not content with his experience on the show. Days after the finale aired, Yogesh shared a Facebook post in which he called out the production for cutting out scenes in which he addressed racism.
The champion further revealed that in one such segment, he confronted host Ken Jennings for repeatedly mispronouncing his name. However, Jeopardy! Masters removed that part from the final edit. Yogesh slammed the production and also used the Facebook post to extend his gratitude to his team and supporters.
He also acknowledged and thanked those who pronounced his name correctly. In the post, he wrote:
"They also cut out me saying, 'Ken, when Neilesh was up here he made a point of thanking you for pronouncing his name correctly, and I'd love to do the same — just as soon as you start.' (Also not a hugely surprising elision.)"
Jeopardy! Masters champion Yogesh Raut says he is not surprised that certain segments did not make the final cut
At the very start of his lengthy Facebook post, the winner of Jeopardy! Masters said that his final pair of interviews on the show "cut out everything" he had to say about racism. However, he added that it was "expected" and that he was not surprised his statements did not make it to the final cut.
Yogesh further mentioned that a "good portion" of his "thank-you's" was removed as well. He then took the liberty of extending his gratitude to every single individual by name, stating it was a "perk of winning" that he could "recite" the names.
"All the people who played/hosted practice games with me both this year and last, including many members of my ToC cohort (Luigi, Yungsheng, Ray, Suresh, Jake, Sean, Ben C., Ben G.), my COQL teammates Patrick and Matt, Tejas, and my "unofficial second" David Stiasny," Yogesh wrote.
The Jeopardy! Masters star also thanked his friends and supporters in Portland, his OQL UK team, and those in Los Angeles.
Yogesh then called out Ken for mispronouncing his name and instead thanked Jimmy McGuire, a member of the Jeopardy! clue crew, and Mitch, the "sound guy," for saying it correctly. The champion further mentioned that Jeopardy! Masters cut out scenes in which he thanked the support staff for making him feel "safe and supported."
Toward the end of the post, Yogesh revealed that he called Jeopardy! alums Matt Amodio and Juveria Zaheer a week before filming the show and "had some fairly intense personal conversations" that helped him keep his head "straight." He thanked them for putting friendship ahead of competitiveness, saying he "won't ever forget that."
Yogesh's list continued as he extended his gratitude to fellow contestants Victoria Groce and Juveria Zaheer's cheering sections, who rooted for him too. He also gave a special mention to the ladies' husbands, who "very graciously congratulated" him.
The Jeopardy! Masters star then mentioned the "good Samaritans" who helped him "escape serious injury" when he fell down the escalator at LAX.
"But I will do my best to see that they get thanked on national TV!" he added.
Lastly, he thanked those who dropped by, "even momentarily," to support his journey on the competition series.
Jeopardy! Masters episodes are available to stream on Hulu.
