Earlier, Taylor told the male islanders that Krissy briefed him about Steph's flirtatious behavior. He added that Steph declared Krissy his "type" despite being paired with Mimi.
Taylor wanted to convey the news to Mimi so she knew what went on without her knowledge. However, things went south when Mercedes warned Steph about Taylor's intentions. Steph discussed the situation with Mimi before Taylor and reassured her that the allegations were mere rumors.
Later, Steph confronted Taylor, criticizing him for talking behind his back. However, Taylor defended himself by saying he wanted Steph to handle the matter privately. Although Steph dismissed the allegation, saying Krissy was dishonest, Taylor remained unconvinced. He believed Steph was trying to clear his name by taking advantage of Krissy's absence.
