On June 11, 2025, K-media Money Today reported that a Seoul district tribunal has authorized a temporary hold on two upscale residences linked to Garosero's content creator Kim Se-ui. It follows a legal action from Gold Medalist, the agency managing actor Kim Soo-hyun. The approval was issued on June 9 concerning a pending civil action involving claims of reputational harm and financial losses.

As per the update, the seized properties include a 120.27m² flat in Seocho Buksan Blooming and a 208.65m² residence in Apgujeong-dong’s Hanyang Complex 4. The Apgujeong property is jointly registered with Kim’s sister, but the order applies only to his 50% interest.

The agency is pursuing a 12 billion KRW compensation suit and has provisionally secured 4 billion KRW — 2 billion KRW pegged to each residence. Legal representative Noh Jong-eon from Jonjae Law Office mentioned that the court likely found justifiable reason to proceed with the seizure.

“This seizure decision is because the court judged that the cause of damages claimed by Gold Medalist and the numerical basis for the seizure claim are somewhat reasonable," Noh stated.

He clarified that this is an interim step, and Kim Se-ui’s response remains pending. The total payout may change after a full trial has been conducted. Market estimates place the Seocho unit around 2.5 billion KRW, while a comparable Apgujeong listing recently traded at 8.87 billion KRW.

The legal issue began in March 2025 when Kim Se-ui allegedly claimed via his video channel, Garosero Research Institute, that Kim Soo-hyun had a questionable connection with actress Kim Sae-ron while she was still a minor.

Gold Medalist first denied the report, later clarifying that the relationship started in mid-2019, once Kim Sae-ron had been over the age of 18. The situation escalated when Gold Medalist initiated both civil and criminal action against Kim Se-ui and Kim Sae-ron’s relatives. Allegations include online defamation and breaches of laws concerning sexual misconduct.

Why did Kim Soo-hyun skip property seizure in the case against Garosero's Kim Se-ui?

Kim Soo-hyun has been identified as a direct creditor in the provisional asset freeze of Garosero Institute Co., Ltd.’s corporate sponsorship account. This signals his personal involvement in the legal proceedings against the whistleblower-linked organization.

In response to inquiries regarding the Queen of Tears star's absence from the list of parties involved in the real estate-related seizures, his legal representatives clarified to Newsen that such actions require formal registration.

This process would make the actor's personal data publicly accessible. To prevent disclosure of his private information to Garosero, the 37-year-old reportedly chose to take part solely in the seizure of the financial account.

Despite the court ruling in favor of the seizure, reports note that both properties had already been mortgaged, reducing the chance that Kim Soo-hyun’s agency would be able to retrieve the full compensation, even if the court later upholds their claim.
