Sophia Bush quashes Ashlyn Harris engagement rumors with photo of ring-less finger on Instagram

One Tree Hill alum Sophia Bush recently took to Instagram to squash online engagement rumors with former professional soccer player Ashlyn Harris, after the two were photographed together during a vacation in Paris. The actress shut down the speculations via a series of posts on her Instagram Stories, shared on Saturday, May 25.

Engagement rumors of the two started from Bush’s previous set of Instagram Stories, where she shared a series of pictures from her and Harris’ Paris trip. One photo showed the two cheek-on-cheek, while Bush’s left hand was seemingly hidden in her girlfriend’s jacket.

In her recent stories, Bush was seen making a peace sign and displaying her bare ring finger in a selfie wearing a green blazer. As per the Independent, she wrote:

“I hear the internet is being wild? Y’all I have no ‘news' for you.”

She added:

“But wouldn’t you put your hands all up in her jacket if you could?? (To be clear you can’t because boundaries, but I’ll continue to do it for you because I’m just generous like that.)”

In a subsequent Instagram story, Sophia Bush shared a previous picture from her and Harris’ trip to Paris. The photo references her “wouldn’t you put your hands in her jacket” comment in the previous slide, with the Love, Victor star embracing her athlete girlfriend and her left hand inside her partner’s jacket while the latter smiles down at the camera.

She wrote on the photo:

“I just wanna squeeeeeeeeeze her.”

Sophia Bush’s final slide reiterated her previous claim that she’s not wearing an engagement ring, further clearing the air about the rumors. She flashed another peace sign while holding her luggage, showing off her bare ring finger.

With a photo showing that the only ring she’s wearing is a thin, plain gold band on her pinky finger, laying engagement rumors to rest, the actress wrote:

“I hope TikTok can relax now. Travel on, friends.”

Sophia Bush had previously come out as “queer” during a cover story with Glamour in April. She wrote in an essay for the publication:

“I finally feel like I can breathe. I don’t think I can explain how profound that is.”

She further wrote:

“As I came into myself, I already felt it was my home. I think I’ve always known that my sexuality exists on a spectrum. Right now I think the word that best defines it is queer. I can’t say it without smiling, actually. And that feels pretty great.”

Meanwhile, Bush, who had been linked with Harris since October 2023 after both their marriages ended, confirmed her new relationship with the former athlete in the same Glamour cover story.

Sophia Bush filed for divorce from Grant Huges in August 2023, while Ashlyn Harris ended her marriage with Ali Krieger about two months later.
