A brief recap of Platonic season 2 episode 5

While Charlie often slipped into the background in season 1 and even in the early stages of Platonic season 2, episode 5 finally brought Charlie to the forefront. The episode shifted focus to Luke Macfarlane’s character as it centers around his long-awaited appearance on the game show Jeopardy!.

However, things went disastrously wrong when he choked under pressure, embarrassing himself on national television. Meanwhile, while Charlie was dealing with the aftermath of his episode, Will was facing the aftermath of breaking off his engagement with his boss Jenna. In an attempt to make him quit, Jenna had cancelled his corporate credit card and taken away his corporate card.

Not only that, she also hired someone else to take over his job at Jay 6, the restaurant Will was running, but he refused to quit. Instead, he moved in with Sylvia and Charlie, which led to an unexpected bromance between the two men.

They worked out together and even headed out for drinks, where the two admitted that they wanted what the other had. Charlie was feeling trapped in his stability, while Will wanted a big change that eventually led to that stability, but neither could figure out how to get there.
