DDG, a.k.a. Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., has recently been granted a temporary restraining order against ex, Halle Bailey. This comes just weeks after the actress was granted legal and physical custody of their son, Halo.
As the estranged couple continues their custody battle, Darryl shared a post seemingly reflecting on the public discourse surrounding the controversy. Taking to his X on Thursday, June 5, 2025, he wrote:
"Now I know how Michael Jackson felt being famous... sh*t crazy."

As the tweet went viral, internet users were quick to call out DDG in the comment section of a post by @hollywoodunlocked on Instagram about the same.
"His ego going to ruin his career... comparing yourself to MJ smh," one commented.

Netizens continued to criticize the comparison, noting the difference in their fame.

There were a few who came to the Twitch streamer's defense, pointing out that Darryl's post was him explaining that being famous was overwhelming.

In the petition, DDG called Halle "an imminent emotional and psychological risk," questioning her fitness as a parent
Earlier this week, DDG filed for a restraining order against Halle Bailey. His motion requested that the court grant him an emergency hearing to grant him sole legal and physical custody of their son, Halo. He also petitioned that the court restrict the actress from traveling internationally with the toddler.
According to USA Today, courts granted DDG a temporary restraining order, ordering Bailey not to harass, assault, stalk, impersonate, or surveil the streamer.
However, he was denied the request for no contact and stay-away order. Additionally, the courts also denied the international travel request (on grounds of "insufficient evidence"), noting that a hearing would determine the same.
The Chloe x Halle member and Darryl were in a relationship between 2022 and 2024. The pair welcomed their son, Halo, in January 2024.
In his petition, the Twitch streamer alleged that he endured physical abuse and emotional coercion at the hands of Halle Bailey, reported ABC News. He claimed she used "threats of self-harm" whenever he tried to end their relationship. He further alleged that she would "weaponize our pregnancy" with threats of abortion if he didn't "reconcile or accede to her demands."
Per the outlet, DDG also accused Halle of invading his privacy. The appeal included a declaration by his mother, Tonya Granberry, claiming that her fiancé, George Charlston, found several AirTags "left behind" by the actress. Tonya called it a "clear and deliberate pattern of unauthorized surveillance and stalking."
According to People magazine, DDG also alleged that the songstress posed an "imminent emotional and psychological risk" to Halo. He cited Bailey's "repeated" and "documented" threats of self-harm as the reason.
He recalled an altercation between the pair that ended in Halle allegedly taking his gun and leaving the house. The petition questioned her fitness as a parent.
This comes three weeks after courts granted the Little Mermaid actress her own temporary restraining order over allegations of physical and verbal abuse. The legal order also gave her physical custody of their son, Halo, barring him from coming within 100 yards of the pair.
Notably, while filing her petition, Bailey requested courts for "permission to take Halo" with her to film in Italy. With the Twitch streamer's bid to restrict international travel being rejected, she can travel with her son to the filming location.
Halle Bailey has not publicly reacted to DDG's tweet, as of this writing.
