Randy Savage's little brother always seemed to be a step behind his sibling, an also-ran who never quite broke into the main event despite being very athletic.
Fans used to enjoy his poems, customized for each opponent and printed on a frisbee which he tossed into the audience after the oration was over. Then he turned heel and became the pretentious Genius character. He flirted with main event status as the henchman to Mr. Perfect, who was feuding with Hogan at the time, but then he slid back down the card.
Lanny has been quite vocal about his mistreatment at the hands of the WWE. He tried to prevent Macho Man from being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, demanding that he be allowed to be part of the ceremony. The tactic didn't work, and Hulk Hogan wound up inducting his old friend and rival.
It takes a lot of bitterness to try and keep your own brother out of the hall of fame so you can have fifteen more seconds in the limelight, but that's where Poffo went.
