10 rare photos of Braun Strowman you might not have seen

At 6ft 8in and 375lbs, Braun Strowman is one of the most destructive and dangerous Superstars to ever enter a WWE ring.

However, if you’ve only ever seen the former Wyatt Family member snarling, swatting and slamming his way through fellow Superstars, then get ready to see him in a light you probably never thought you would.

While he might seem to be a “Monster Among Men” inside the squared circle, outside of a WWE ring Strowman appears to be one of the coolest and most charismatic guys in the locker room.

In this article, we take a look at 10 rare photos of the man formerly known as "The Black Sheep" that simply have to be seen to be believed.

#10 Braun likes his food!

Braun ea — Strowman is a big fan of Chipotle

A former competitive strongman, Braun revealed in August 2017 that he eats 15,000 calories per day – more than five times the recommended daily amount – because that’s how much it takes “just to be able to feed the monster”.

In this 11 May 2014 picture, taken and tweeted by former NXT colleague Becky Lynch, he is tucking into some Pirate's Booty, a puffed rice and corn snack, while in the back of a car with his fellow Rosebuds (more on that later!).

#9 Early NXT days

With NXT providing such a high-profile platform for WWE’s next crop of talent to make their name, it’s very rare in this day and age that we see someone debut on the main roster when they’re still relatively unknown to the casual fan.

Braun Strowman – or Braun Stowman, as he was initially called – is one recent exception, having never had a match on NXT television before his August 2015 WWE debut as a member of the Wyatt Family.

This rare picture shows Braun in his rookie days in NXT, way before he was tipping over ambulances and breaking ring canvases.

#8 The WWE representative

Strowman is doing more and more media appearances for WWE

You may not have thought it when he debuted as “The Black Sheep of the Wyatt Family”, but Braun Strowman is a well-spoken, funny guy who will be a perfect representative of WWE in media appearances for years to come.

In the build-up to SummerSlam 2017, he appeared in various interviews with fellow Raw Superstar Sasha Banks and they even rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

#7 Famous father

Braun Strowman, real name Adam Scherr, is a pretty big deal in the world of pro wrestling, but his father is just as big a deal in the world of softball.

Rick "The Crusher" Scherr holds the record for the USSSA All Time World Series in home runs, hits and RBIs, and he was inducted into the USSSA Hall of Fame in 1994.

You can tell from Braun’s social media posts that he has a great relationship with his family. He credits his father with teaching him “how to be a man” and said after his WrestleMania 33 appearance that “words can't express what it meant to me to have my parents there to watch me in front of more than 75,000 people”.

#6 Monster among Rosebuds

Several WWE performers were Rosebuds during their NXT days

Before making it to WWE’s main roster, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Kalisto and Simon Gotch were all Rosebuds – a group of people who partied with Adam Rose and helped carry the flamboyant Superstar to and from the ring whenever he had a match.

However, the most distinguishable member of the party-goers was none other than Braun Strowman. As you can see from this picture, the excitable rookie just looked happy to be in front of a WWE camera!

#5 Braun REALLY likes dressing up

If WWE ever needs someone to dress up for Halloween or Christmas specials, Braun Strowman is the man they should call.

Whether he’s representing the Rosebuds or representing the Wyatt Family, Braun has had more changes of attire than most in his short time on WWE’s main roster. However, he might want to skip the fancy dress section of his wardrobe when he looks for his next attire change.

We tried to refrain from using too many of Braun’s Instagram posts in this article – after all, we were looking for rare ones you might not have seen – but some were just too good not to include.

This picture of “The Monster Among Men”, taken when he was about 20, is before he grew a long beard and way before he developed the tough-guy look that he carries with him today.

#3 Soapy Strowman

It’s safe to say we’ve established that Braun Strowman isn’t a monster at all – he’s just a fun-loving dude who enjoys fancy dress parties and likes to eat tons of corn snacks to maintain his giant frame.

Braun also likes having a good time in the shower, in the most PG way possible, by getting all soapy and giving a thumbs-up to let us know how much fun he’s having.

If he ever fancies a gimmick change, Soapy Strowman has got money written all over it.

#2 Braun by name, brawn by nature

Back to serious business, Adam Scherr won several strongman competitions before he was ever Braun Strowman, most notably the NAS US Amateur National Championships in 2011 and the Arnold Amateur Strongman Championships in 2012, and he competed in the 2013 Arnold Strongman Classic.

As far as training goes, Strowman said in August 2017: “Sometimes I just go out into the woods and I beat trees down with my bare hands."

#1 Braun’s dating profile

Braun Strowman is a monster among his fellow WWE Superstars and enjoys nothing more than hurting Roman Reigns, Big Show, Kane and any other tough guys who try to stand in his way.

Adam Scherr, however, is a good old country boy who likes to lift weights, eat steaks and show off his guns while he’s splashing about in a lake.

Although this has not been confirmed by the man himself, this really does appear to be Braun’s Tinder profile. It went viral in January 2017 and was reported to be the real deal by many reputable outlets.
