Drave Maverick’s video in response to the news about his WWE release was absolutely heartbreaking. As he bid farewell to the company with teary eyes, the entire WWE Universe poured their support for the hard-working talent who was doing great in the Cruiserweight division. Unfortunately, his WWE run has now ended, at least for the time being.

But before Maverick joined WWE, he used to perform in Impact Wrestling alongside EC3. The two were competed as a tag team and were also involved in a brief rivalry after EC3 turned on his partner. After arriving in WWE, the two were seen together only once. Maverick worked as the manager of EC3 in a dark match after an episode of SmackDown but Vince McMahon was reportedly unhappy with the segment. Hence, they were not paired again.

EC3, who was released by WWE this week, returned to WWE in 2018 and performed in NXT. He was then called up to the main roster but barely made a notable presence before being put on the sidelines. Now that both these Superstars are no longer employed by WWE, they could join AEW and reform that tag team which once entertained the crowd in the indie wrestling scene.
