Taker chokeslammed Kane for a near fall and vice versa. Kane attacked The Phenom with a chair on multiple occasions. This match was not very brutal but was exciting because of the storytelling.

Paul Bearer entered the ring to distract Kane, and was chokeslammed by The Deadman again. When Taker was about to deliver a Tombstone Piledriver to Kane, Paul Bearer used the light coming from the urn to blindside Taker and thus helped Kane retain his World Heavyweight Title.
