Rusev’s year was lacklustre, to say the least. The Bulgarian Brute was poorly booked throughout the year. It’s hard to believe this is the guy that was so destructive during his early days in WWE.

From multiple alliances with Jinder Mahal and Aiden English to barely being seen on television, I actually thought that WWE released Rusev. His only highlight of the year came when he faced John Cena in a flag match at Battleground, and even then, Rusev ended up on the losing side.
Following that, Rusev lost to Orton in 10 seconds at SummerSlam. However, Rusev and English defeated The New Day to earn a spot in the fatal-four way tag team championship match at Clash of Champions. But, if history is any indication, you can expect Rusev to end up on the losing side again.

Sunil admires former world champions AJ Styles, Will Ospreay, and Kenny Omega for their ability to consistently deliver great matches as well as entertain crowds with their mic skills.
If ever given a chance to change a storyline, Sunil would have booked Roman Reigns to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak instead of Brock Lesnar. According to him, The Tribal Chief needed the victory more than Brock Lesnar, as the latter was already an established performer when he defeated ‘Taker. He would’ve also made that as Taker’s final match.
Always focused on making his work accurate and reliable, Sunil thoroughly checks his facts before writing his articles. When not writing for pro wrestling, he spends his time watching cricket.
