Despite of what it may look like on television, WWE Superstars are human beings too. Being on the road 5 days a week does it fair share to mess up their private lives without even taking into account daily bumps and injuries.
WWE Superstars lead hard lives and often, they party harder. Stories of backstage partying during WWE’s boom period in the late 90’s are legendary and things nowadays are a little less crazy, especially with social media and camera phones.
Since we’ve already started talking about parties, let’s go ahead and look at 15 photos of WWE Superstars partying.
15: Candice Michelle and Jeff Hardy
Apart from his high flying offence and disregard for his own safety, Jeff Hardy is best known for his partying ways. He’s had well-documented problems with drugs and alcohol in the past, no incident more famous than showing up high out of his mind at the TNA Victory Road PPV in 2011.
In this photo we see Jeff with former WWE Diva Candice Michelle at a nightclub, taken soon after Hardy’s 2006 return to WWE. Needless to say, both of them look quite intoxicated.
14: Two legends
Even though we never got to see Goldberg and Stone Cold Steve Austin face each other in the ring, seeing them at a bar talking over a beer is cool in its own right. I’m not completely sure which year this photo was taken but it’s one hell of a photo nonetheless – two legends talking over beer.
13: Cena and Nikki
John Cena’s partying habits are legendary although he’s cut it down since meeting Nikki Bella. Allegedly, his partying habits was what led to his divorce with his high-school sweetheart Elizabeth Hubredeau. This photo is definitely not one that WWE will want the face of their PG Era too see.
12: Swag
Believe it or not, Jack Swagger is somehow a former WWE Champion which he won after cashing in his ‘Money In The Bank’ contract on Chris Jericho on an episode of SmackDown in 2010.
However, unfortunately for Swagger, he got charged driving under the influence soon after along with possession of illegal substances. Swagger got probation for 6 months and his WWE career went downhill from there.
11: Touring party
Partying and wrestling don’t go as hand-in-hand nowadays as it did in the 80’s and early 90’s with wrestlers more concerned with their hectic schedule and going to the gym than getting wasted. In this photo, we see that some WWE Superstars still like to keep the party going.
This photo was taken at the back on a tour bus during one of WWE’s international tour and we see Chris Jericho pouring Vokda at the back of the tour bus as he drinks with Dean Ambrose and The Usos.
10: Nikki, Dolph and the gang
Nikki Bella and Dolph Ziggler were at FCW around the same time. Nikki had just started her journey in FCW while Ziggler was sent back down to be repacked after his debut as a member of the Spirit Squad. Both Nikki and Dolph dated briefly and they were both called up to the main roster in the third quarter of 2008.
In this photo, we see Dolph and Nikki at a bar with Zack Ryder, Maryse and Lilian Garcia. We aren’t sure when exactly this photo was taken but Nikki and Dolph were definitely an item at this point in time.
9: Ric Flair and the ‘Animal’
Batista impressed in his early WWE career but he really took off after he joined Evolution. Under the guidance of Triple H and 16-time world champion Ric Flair, Batista truly founf his footing and ended up as a true main-eventer.
As we can see in this photo, wrestling wasn’t the only thing Flair mentored Batista in – some of Ric’s legendary partying habits probably rubbed off on the ‘Animal’ as well.
8: An awesome wedding
The Miz is one of the most hated heels in WWE. This picture captures The Miz at his wedding reception along with John Morrison, Zack Ryder and Dolph Ziggler. Miz married Maryse in a ceremony at the Bahamas in 2014 and the party was clearly a good one, a fact that you can easily tell from Miz’s dreary eyes.
7: CM Player
We see Nikki Bella in this list for the second time (spoiler alert: it isn’t the last time) partying with Matt Hardy, Ever Torres and CM Punk. Also, the future “Broken” Matt Hardy has two cups in his hand, not one.
6: Andre
Andre wasn’t just the 8th wonder of the world, he was also a wonder when it came to the bar. Check out this photo of Andre at a bar during the 80s, he looks like he has 6 glasses in front of him at once. Not only a wrestling legend but a legend outside the ring too.
5: Bone Street Krew and The Kliq
This is, without a doubt, the most famous photo of WWE Superstars partying. We can see members of Undertaker’s infamous backstage group Bone Street Krew mingling with members of The Kliq and partying after hours. This picture is a literal who’s who of late 90’s wrestling.
4: CM Player 2
CM Punk was popular with the ladies backstage. Rumours of relationships with numerous WWE DIvas have done the round including Kelly Kelly, Maria Kanellis, Lita and his current wife AJ Lee. For a guy who doesn’t drink a drop of alcohol, Punk sure knows how to party in style as we can see in this pic of him with The Bellas and Maryse.
3: What a hoot!
This is a great photo of WWE Superstars hanging out after a show and letting their hair down. We can see a host of WWE Superstars including Zack Ryder, Beth Phoenix, Daniel Bryan, The Bellas, Rosa Mendes, Chris Jericho, The Miz amongst others.
We can also see Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella near the beginning of their relationship. Awwwwwww...
2: Wildchild
Paige dominated the headlines in 2016 for all the wrong reasons. WWE’s resident ‘wildchild’ can be seen in this photo getting close to a ‘friend’ of hers at a party. Paige is a well-known ‘party animal’ and has admitted to hooking up with women in the past.
1: Attitude Era
Wrestlers were like rock stars during the Attitude Era. The business was booming and WWE Superstars were partying all over the place after hours. If you don’t think the situation in the photo was normal during those years, just check out Ron Simmons looking on and ignoring the topless woman behind him as Viscera, Rikishi and The Godfather pose with her.
Also, notice all the glasses and bottles on the table. They were in for one hell of a night.
