#5 Shawn Michaels vs Triple H - SummerSlam 2002
Shawn Michaels' return to WWE in 2002 was one of the most iconic moments in the company's history. For four years, it had appeared that Michaels had stepped inside the ring to compete for the final time.
Thanks to a crippling injury four years back, his in-ring career had seemingly come to an end. However, at SummerSlam 2002, Shawn Michaels returned to the ring after a betrayal by his best friend – Triple H. The match was unsanctioned and fans didn’t expect much from it. They thought that it would be a typical brawl.
The Shawn Michaels that appeared at the event, made them all rethink their idea of his condition. At no point did it look like Michaels had not wrestled for the better part of four years. He had re-entered the ring as if he had never left and the match was one of the best that had been seen in years.
He returned to the ring and started to jump off ladders immediately after what was thought to be a critical injury. The match is one of the best of all time when talking about his many appearances in the ring thanks to the shock factor attached to it, as well as his innate ability to draw in a crowd.
Shawn Michaels’ return to the ring in 2002 was the start of what would be a much better run in WWE than his own legendary original WWE run.
