Before the match, Drew Gulak and his new friends Jack Gallagher and Brian Kendrick let the champion and the challenger know that, since they're finished with Lucha House Party, they'll be watching the title match very carefully, hinting at a possible challenge soon.


Cruiserweight Championship Match: Hideo Itami vs Cedric Alexander (c)

As Cedric Alexander made his way to the ring to meet the eyes of his challenger, the commentary team made it clear that Alexander, a fighting champion, asked Drake Maverick for this match. Nigel McGuinness wondered if this would end up coming back to bite him later in the night.

The champ began the match forcing Itami into the ropes, but as he broke, Itami slapped him across the face. Itami then forced him into the ropes, attempting to land a cheap kick during the break, which Cedric evaded.

Itami caught Cedric with another right while they were tangled up in the ropes, getting under his skin. Itami threw the champion into the ropes, but Cedric countered into a handspring head scissors, forcing Itami into the corner. Cedric then told Itami to "show" him something, before chopping him repeatedly. Itami, now fired up, landed stiff kicks to Alexander as he attempted a springboard Flatliner from the apron.

Itami repeatedly kicked Cedric in the chest while forcing him into the corner, taunting him along the way. Cedric attempted to fight back, but Itami caught him flush on the jaw with a knee to the jaw. Itami's pace was slow, keeping Cedric from getting any kind of momentum building. Any time the champion attempted to get back into the match, Itami would cut him short with stiff strikes.

Itami locked Cedric in a headlock, then slammed him to the mat when he tried to escape. The legendary striker hit a neckbreaker on the champion, getting a two-count, before putting him in another headlock. Itami threw Cedric into the ropes and attempted a knee to the gut, but Cedric countered with a schoolboy followed by a kick, then a running uppercut. A dazed Itami stumbled into the middle of the ring, where Cedric landed a springboard Flatliner.

Itami attempted to take a breather outside the ring, but Cedric caught him with a somersault senton, not getting all of it. The Champ went for a springboard clothesline, but Itami dodged, only to be caught by a Neuralizer.

The challenger kicked out at two as Cedric's eyes widened. Cedric went for the Lumbar Check but Itami fought out. As the Champ chased him into the corner, Itami stopped him with an elbow, followed by a kick, finishing with hanging up his opponent over the top rope. Itami landed a flying clothesline, but only managed a two-count.

The two men then began a striking contest, but Cedric Alexander couldn't compete. Hideo Itami forced his opponent into the corner then landed a high impact flying dropkick, followed by a suplex, getting yet another two-count.

Itami attempted to loosen a turnbuckle pad, but the ref got in his way. Cedric attempted another springboard clothesline but was cut short by Itami, forcing Cedric to crash and burn to the outside. Itami then landed a devastating basement dropkick on Cedric on the steel steps, but Cedric kicked out when he was rolled back in the ring.

Cedric attempted to sneak a Lumbar Check, but Itami got out and hit him with two spinning back fists. After a vicious knee to the back of the champion's skull, Itami looked to end the match. However, as he attempted a running dropkick, Cedric finally hit the Lumbar Check for the win.
