WWE News: 205 Live Stars to take on UK Division

Drake Maverick makes a huge announcement on 205 Live

What's the story?

Since January, 205 Live has been bringing stars from the UK Division and NXT to take on the cruiserweights in fast paced high flying action. It seems we'll be getting more of this, as the Cruiserweights and the UK Division will fight next week in London.

In case you didn't know...

The UK Division hasn't had much time to shine since the UK Championship Tournament last year. Although stars like Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate, and Mark Andrews have all appeared on the main roster or 205 Live, the actual division hasn't gotten much light.

With the upcoming United Kingdom Championship Tournament taking place next month, however, it seems that the UK stars will get their time to shine.

The heart of the matter

During tonight's episode of 205 Live, Drake Maverick brought Cedric Alexander in his office to talk about next week's event. The WWE is travelling to London next week, and the cruiserweights will take on members of WWE's UK Division.

Cedric said that he's ready for a challenge and that the UK stars need to bring their A game.

What's next?

The UK Division is finally building some steam, as it looks like the WWE will finally pull the trigger on them soon enough. With the announcement of NXT being a Global Territory System and Triple H wanting to work pay-per-views in the UK, now is the perfect time to highlight the talent hidden in that division.

With the upcoming tournament, the UK stars have a lot to prove next week and are looking to make an impact.

Author's take

This is an exciting announcement. The Cruiserweight Classic and the United Kingdom Championship Tournament were two of my favorite tournaments, not just in the WWE, but in the world in 2016-2017. With the immense and varied talent that both divisions have, this show will be nothing short of can't miss.

With guys like Cedric Alexander, Buddy Murphy, Mustafa Ali and Drew Gulak taking 205 Live to the next level the past five months, and Pete Dunne, Mustache Mountain and Mark Andrews waiting for their opportunity, this is something to look forward too.
