At WWE Wrestlemania, Brock Lesnar defeated his rival, Goldberg, to win the WWE Universal Championship, thus winning his 5th World Title and the first superstar to win both the WWE Championship and WWE Universal Championship. In another interesting fact, Lesnar also became the first wrestler to kick-out from Goldberg's jackhammer in addition to giving him his first clean singles loss of his professional wrestling career.

Lesnar's first title defence came at WWE Great Balls of Fire, where he successfully defended the title against Samoa Joe. He later went on to defend the title at WWE SummerSlam in the main event in an all-out fatal 4-way match.

His next challenge was The Monster Among Men, Braun Strowman, individually, at WWE No Mercy, where The Beast was victorious once again. His final match of the year took place at WWE Survivor Series, where he faced the WWE Champion, The Phenomenal One, AJ Styles in a Champion vs Champion match, where The Beast emerged victorious in a classic bout.

Brock Lesnar is indeed The Reigning, Defending, Undisputed, Universal Champion.
