Roman Reigns was another gigantic name to miss SummerSlam. Since making his debut in 2012, the Big Dog missed SummerSlam for the first time. Last year, Reigns was part of the main event at SummerSlam where he pinned Brock Lesnar to win the Universal Championship. The scenario has altered drastically in a year as he wasn't even on the card.
WWE has provoked interest with a new storyline for the Big Dog. Reigns was attacked by a mysterious attacker on SmackDown Live two weeks ago and it continued the following week. A large number of fans speculated that the unknown assaulter would be revealed in Toronto which could have led to a match but nothing of the sort materialised.
Since the attacker wasn't revealed at SummerSlam, the story-line will progress on RAW and SmackDown Live. It will be interesting to see if the attacker turns out to be Erick Rowan or Daniel Bryan.
