Was it necessary for Kofi Kingson to pin Daniel Bryan cleanly on a random episode of RAW? It wasn't necessary at all. We understand why WWE would do a Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan match, owing to record-low ratings.
Daniel Bryan needed to be protected here. Michael Cole stated that Bryan spent a month in solitude, thinking about his 'Mania loss. So, his return should have meant even more. The match could have ended in an indecisive manner since Bryan has the potential to be WWE SmackDown's ultimate Supervillain.
On the other hand, Robert Roode also suffered a loss, only weeks after his 'reincarnation.' Basically, Roode gave a win back to Ricochet in a match that never had enough time. It was a good idea on paper to have Ricochet defend his MITB ladder match spot, but it didn't do anything for anyone.
