3 Early Predictions for WWE TLC 2018

TLC
TLC

After a Survivor Series that saw RAW dominate SmacDown Live and pulling off a clean sweep, the road to the new year and the Royal Rumble has one more obstacle in the form of Table, Ladders and Chairs. The event will take place live on the WWE Network on December 16th live from the SAP Center in San Jose, California, which is the second consecutive Pay Per View that California will have, with Survivor Series taking place in the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Expect a show of brutality as TLC is one of the most punishing matches in WWE history.

There are already two matches confirmed for the show as Seth Rollins will defend the Intercontinental Championship against his former Shield-brother Dean Ambrose in an eagerly anticipated matchup, after Ambrose stabbed Rollins and the Shield in the back the night that Roman Reigns vacated the Universal Championship due to illnesses, as well as after winning the RAW Tag Team titles the same night. Also, the finals of the Mixed Match Challenge will take place on this show as the winning team will get the #30 entrance for the Men's and Women's Royal Rumble match in January. It is very possible that someone will be pulling double duty that night as I expect some of the remaining participants left in the MMC will also have matches on the card besides this one. With the two matches we already know are confirmed and based off of the events of last night, here are 3 early predictions for WWE Tables, Ladders, and Chairs. What are your predictions for the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Pay Per View? Be heard in the comments section. 3.) Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins will steal the show, but go to a no-contest

Dean Ambrose
Dean Ambrose

From the moment Dean Ambrose turned heel against Seth Rollins in late October, fans have been waiting for the two to finally get in the ring and get their hands on each other and it will finally happen next month at TLC, as it was announced last night that Rollins and Ambrose will go one on one for the Intercontinental Championship.

As we saw a few years ago when these two first feuded, but with the roles reversed, Ambrose and Rollins have amazing chemistry with each other. With the roles now reversed and Ambrose being the heel and Rollins being the face I expect the same to hold true, and they may even outdo their matches from 2014 as Rollins is a natural face and Ambrose works better as a heel.

Expect these two to steal the show next month, but if you are expecting a clear and decisive winner you will be disappointed, as I see the match ending in a no contest so this feud can extend into the new year and the Royal Rumble. A double count out or disqualification is the perfect result for this match, especially given the built-up tension and anger heading into the match.

2.) Braun Strowman's road to the Royal Rumble and Brock Lesnar begins with Baron Corbin in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match

Survivor Serie
Survivor Series

Last night at Survivor Series, Braun Strowman kept his word and he led Team RAW to a convincing victory over Team SmackDown in the traditional Survivor Series 5 on 5 match. Now, Stephanie McMahon has to keep her word and give Strowman what he wants, and that begins at TLC with a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match against Baron Corbin.

Strowman only wanted two things: A Universal Championship rematch against Brock Lesnar and a match against Baron Corbin where he picks the stipulation. What better stipulation to pick in order to inflict the most pain and suffering than a TLC match? Corbin will try to weasel his way out of the match, but fearing the consequences if she double-crosses Braun, Stephanie will make sure the match goes on as planned.

At TLC, I expect Braun to win the match easily and writing Corbin out of the storyline for a while, which may lead to a new General Manager on RAW. The only question left would be when exactly would Braun get his title match? I can see that happening either at the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania at the latest. Since a title match was already promised to Braun, I don't see him in the Royal Rumble match itself, so the Rumble would be the best place to have the rematch between Strowman and Lesnar.

1.) Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch will go one on one again, but the seeds for the Four Horsewomen v. Team MMA will be planted

Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair

As we saw last night at Survivor Series, Charlotte Flair seemingly turned heel and brutally beat down Ronda Rousey, which leaves the SmackDown Women's Division in a confusing state of affairs. SmackDown Women's Champion Becky Lynch is supposed to be portrayed as a heel, but she is so over with the fans that she has morphed into an anti-hero, like Stone Cold Steve Austin. Now her only credible challenger is also now a heel, so where does this leave SmackDown? The only legitimate and somewhat credible babyface Naomi was eliminated in quick fashion in the Women's 5 on 5 tag match. This leads me to believe one thing: The long-rumored Four Horsewomen v. Team MMA match is going to happen; the only question is when and how will we get there?

I can see Lynch being cleared to compete by Survivor Series, so I see her defending the title against Charlotte once again. How we get to that point is another question that will become much clearer after SmackDown on Tuesday. Also, at TLC, Rousey will most likely be defending the RAW Women's Championship against Nia Jax. Since Pay Per Views are co-branded now, I can see Lynch, Charlotte, and Rousey crossing paths during the show. During the confrontation, I can see some hints being dropped that Rousey will be getting back up and will deal with Lynch and Charlotte somewhere down the road. I don't expect it to fully blow up on a small show like TLC, but by Royal Rumble time expect this feud to kick off leading to WrestleMania 35.
