Big names usually return after WrestleMania or Survivor Series, and it wasn't different this year. Matt Hardy was a notable name to come back on the RAW after Survivor Series. SmackDown saw another big return, as Sheamus showed up after a gap of seven months.

Upon his arrival on SmackDown, the former WWE Champion delivered an outstanding promo, calling out the entire locker room of the Blue Brand. However, Sheamus' appearance was noticeable, as the Celtic Warrior brought back a similar look from this early days in WWE.

When Sheamus got injured after WrestleMania 35, he was still part of The Bar, a tag-team along with Cesaro. Since the Celtic Warrior didn't mention The Bar or Cesaro on SmackDown this week, he is unlikely to reunite with the Swiss Cyborg again. Hence, Sheamus is expected to compete as a singles Superstar on the Blue Brand.

In this article, we will talk about three possible feuds for Sheamus after his return.

#3 Ali

Ali has been making a name for himself since moving to SmackDown from 205 Live last year. Although he is yet to win a title on SmackDown, he has been booked as a top Superstar of the brand, participating in several big matches. Ali was also part of Team SmackDown at Survivor Series, but he could not get the job done for the Blue brand. Ali faced Drew Gulak on SmackDown this week, earning a comprehensive victory over the former Cruiserweight Champion.

After representing SmackDown at Survivor Series, Ali is searching for a serious feud, and there could be no better option than the Celtic Warrior.

A lengthy rivalry with Sheamus could be beneficial for Ali. Given Sheamus' recent segment, he is possibly returning as a bad guy, and he could pick a babyface like Ali to start a new feud. Both Sheamus and Ali are dexterous in the ring, and they could deliver some great matches.

#2 Shorty G

Calling out the locker room of SmackDown in his promo, Sheamus mentioned three names from the Blue Brand, and Shorty G was one of them, making him an obvious choice to face the former WWE Champion. While citing his name, Sheamus also derided the new name of Shorty G, and it will not be surprising if the latter confronts the former next week.

Shorty G, previously known as Chad Gable, has become one of the top babyfaces of the Blue Brand, owing to his brilliant performance in the King of the Ring tournament. Participating in the King of the Ring tournament, Shorty G surprised everyone by reaching the final falling at the final hurdle against King Corbin.

Since his rivalry with Corbin, Shorty G hasn't had a proper opponent, yet he was part two gigantic tag-team matches in the last two pay-per-views. While he represented Team Hogan at Crown Jewel, he was also one of the five members to represent Team SmackDown at Survivor Series.

The returning Sheamus needs to wrestle a top-notch face on SmackDown, and Shorty G is certainly a suitable name, considering his recent momentum. Furthermore, Shorty G's wrestling style could be suitable for a big guy like Sheamus, allowing them to produce some extraordinary bouts in the future.

#1 Braun Strowman

Having called SmackDown roster 'pathetic' and 'a bunch of 'misfits', Sheamus probably didn't think about one of the most dangerous men in WWE, Braun Strowman, who is part of the Blue brand. With this in mind, Strowman could welcome Sheamus to SmackDown, starting a new rivalry and showing the actual standard of the Blue Brand.

Switching brands in the last draft, Strowman has been enjoying a great run. The Monster Among Men had a coruscating match against Tyson Fury at Crown Jewel, and he was also part of the traditional Survivor Series match. Strowman skipped the SmackDown after Survivor Series, and it remains to be seen what is next for him.

Braun Strowman and Sheamus shared the ring in the past, facing each other a couple of times, including a tag team match at WrestleMania 34, where Strowman won the RAW Tag Team Titles from The Bar.

However, the rejuvenated Sheamus has shown his old self on SmackDown this week, and he could be a force to be reckoned upon his return to the squared circle. If the Celtic Warrior wants to make his mark as a singles competitor again, a feud with Strowman could be rewarding, helping the former to reach the top of the ladder in WWE.
