On the most recent episode of SmackDown Live, WWE announced that Kofi Kingston will be defending his WWE Championship against 'The Beast' Brock Lesnar on the October 4th FOX debut of SmackDown Live. Brock Lesnar means ratings, especially on network television, where 'The Beast' has rarely appeared. Chances are high that Lesnar may be given another world championship run, only this time with the Blue Brand's WWE Championship.
Kofi Kingston's recent stint as WWE Champion has become somewhat stale. Furthermore, WWE data shows that Kingston has been one of the worst drawing champions in the history of WWE. That shouldn't happen with Brock Lesnar.
WWE CEO Vince McMahon won't take any chances and will likely kick off SmackDown's FOX debut by crowning his favorite part-timer as WWE Champion. While this decision may leave people divided on the Internet, Brock Lesnar is a huge name around the world, and would bring more viewers to SmackDown. Furthermore, the move would certainly spice things up on the Blue Brand.
