#1 Why Brock Lesnar was always favored to win against Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel 2019
The Beast Incarnate went head-to-head against his UFC rival, Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel 2019. Not only that, but Brock Lesnar also conquered Rey Mysterio's ally under three minutes.
The bout itself had an MMA-like approach towards it from the very beginning. It looked like Lesnar was struggling to match his rival's intensity, and that was about the only offense Velasquez would have against the WWE Champion. Before the match could ever reach its true potential, Velasquez tapped out to Brock Lesnar's Kimura Lock a little over the two-minute mark.
Even if the bout's length came off as a surprise to many, The Beast Incarnate was always the favorite to win even before the match had started.
First of all, Velasquez isn't equipped to lead the show as the WWE Champion at this stage. We also know that WWE tends to host several matches whenever two huge stars are involved and Lesnar's victory would make it a "1-1" scenario between himself and Velasquez, which might eventually lead to a "third showdown" between them in the future.
So it didn't look like Cain Velasquez was going to be winning anyway. But in the meantime, it appears as if the actual meat of this storyline didn't involve Velasquez at all, because his loss only acts as a trigger for Rey Mysterio to take down Brock Lesnar in the future.
Will The Master of the 619 be able to overcome Brock Lesnar's wrath at this stage in his career?
