For over four decades, Pro Wrestling has provided some riveting battles for the fans. Legendary Superstars, including the likes of Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, The Undertaker, The Rock, Triple H, Shawn Michaels and John Cena have enthralled and bewitched the WWE Universe with their riveting deeds inside the ring.
From Hulk Hogan defeating Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III, to the classic that The Rock and Stone Cold dished out at WrestleMania XVII, to Shawn Michaels and Triple H destroying each other at Bad Blood with blood gushing from their faces, to the brutal encounter at WrestleMania XXVIII, when Triple H and The Undertaker pushed the limits of human endurance before ‘The Phenom’ finally prevailed, there have been several moments that these icons have offered, that has made us gape at them in unabashed awe.
But then, for all these great matches, there were some matches between legendary Superstars that turned out to be totally one sided affairs.
In this article, let us look at three such matches that turned out to be totally one sided.
#3 The Undertaker Vs John Cena (WrestleMania XXXIV)
This was a match that fans had craved for years. The Undertaker and John Cena had grown into two of WWE’s iconic Superstars and fans wanted these two powerhouses to collide inside the ring. And, at WrestleMania XXXIV, the fans got their wish at last, as The Undertaker showed up at ‘The Show Of Shows’ to take on the ‘Cenation Leader’.
But then, what transpired in the ring left the fans dumbstruck. In less than 3 minutes, The DeadMan squashed Cena to go 24-2 at WrestleMania. John Cena almost offered zero offense during the entire match-up. In fact, The Undertaker’s entrance was longer than the entire duration of the match.
#2 Goldberg Vs Brock Lesnar (Survivor Series 2016)
1 minute 26 seconds. Yes! That was all it took for Goldberg to slay the 'Beast Incarnate' at Survivor Series. Before facing Goldberg, Brock Lesnar was an unstoppable force of destruction. He had dismantled John Cena, and he had done the unthinkable by ending The Undertaker’s undefeated Streak at WrestleMania XXX.
He had also broken Triple H’s arm, and he had busted Randy Orton open at SummerSlam.
And, the final icon left, was Goldberg. And so, after weeks of build up, the two clashed at Survivor Series in 2016. But, what transpired was absolutely stunning. Goldberg delivered 2 spears and the Jackhammer, and in less than 2 minutes this monumental match was over, with Lesnar offering zero offense.
The WWE Universe was left in a state of bewilderment as they saw what transpired in front of their eyes.
#1 Brock Lesnar Vs John Cena (SummerSlam 2014)
This was a match where John Cena got a pounding of a lifetime. Brock Lesnar just destroyed Cena viciously, and if you were a John Cena fan, then this was really hard to watch.
Lesnar just tossed Cena around, delivered multiple German Suplexes, kicks to the ribs, and 3 F5’s to register one of the most one sided victories over John Cena in recent memory. The 16 time World Champion was writhing in pain in the ring, as Lesnar won the WWE World Heavyweight title to kick off his monstrous reign as the World Champion.
