Bobby Lashley returned to WWE after WrestleMania 34 and made his way into the Raw locker room. Fans were overjoyed by his return, as the man is an impressive wrestler with an even more impressive physique. Many even believed that he had been brought back to the company as the man who would beat Brock Lesnar, but that wasn’t so.

After some impressive initial showings, Lashley slowly fell down to the mid-card and got into an awkward rivalry with Sami Zayn, which ended with both men’s reputations being damaged.

Since then, Lashley and the creatives have been working hard to revive his reputation and also increase his value on Raw.

They did so first by giving him a mouthpiece in Lio Rush, and later got him some better matches to prove his dominance.

Finally, WWE pulled the trigger and included him into the feud between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins which resulted in him surprising everyone and winning the Intercontinental Championship which was held by Dean Ambrose.

Now as the new Intercontinental Champion, there are a few men who could be eyeing his championship and become his next competitor for the title.

Let’s take a look at 3 superstars who have the highest chances of dethroning Lashley as the Intercontinental Champion.

#3 Dean Ambrose

The first obvious choice in the list, Dean Ambrose was the man Lashley beat in a triple-threat match to win the championship.

The cat and mouse chase between these two men could continue for some time for the Intercontinental Championship, but it is possible that Lashley will hold the championship for at least a few months so that he is brought to the forefront of the roster. Lashley might come out on top after every match between Ambrose and himself.

However, somewhere down the line, it is possible that Ambrose will come back for the title once again become one of the most prominent superstars on Raw, and will win it from Lashley at WrestleMania 35 or after that.

Expect these two men to compete for the title for a few weeks before Lashley moves onto another competitor before Ambrose comes back into the title picture.

#2 Kevin Owens

The man who Lashley injured and sent home for surgery will soon make his return to the ring and could find an opponent in Lashley.

Lashley not only put on Owens out through a kayfabe injury but also put his friend Sami Zayn out before that.

A vengeful Owens will return, and could target Lashley to exact revenge. He will surely want to take the Intercontinental Championship away from the former ECW World Champion too.

Kevin Owens has held a number of titles in the past, including the Intercontinental title, and has well increased the value of almost all championships he has held to date.

Kevin Owens is a fitting option to dethrone Lashley whenever he makes his return, and it could also be backed by his storyline injury as the two men will surely lock horns sooner than later.

#1 Braun Strowman

The man who deserves a title to his name but has fallen into numerous traps when he’s gotten the chance makes it to the top of the list.

Braun Strowman has been put into the Universal Championship chase for quite some time now but hasn’t been successful at all. Even though Strowman is a very good wrestler, there are many who are far more talented than him who deserve the Universal Championship more than him at the moment.

WWE should have already put a mid-card championship around his big waist before setting him off for the Universal Championship, but it’s not too late yet.

Lashley is a big man who can take on big competition, and Strowman could be the man who beats him for the mid-card title.

Not only will this help the company in rotating the title frequently and through many different superstars, but also allow Strowman to win his first singles championship and learn from the experience before going on to win the Universal Championship.

Therefore, Strowman seems like the best and the most likely candidate to beat The Almighty for the Intercontinental Championship.
