#1: The Miz-New Day backstage bit masked "The Marine 6" cheap promotion vibes perfectly

SmackDown Live has a unique way of making cheap promotion look comically acceptable!

The Miz was on fire during last night's episode. He purposefully went overboard during his backstage segment with Shane McMahon as The Miz's new avatar portrays him to be the same self-entitled person with a different, tricky approach to the people who surround him.

We all know that this is just one of Miz's ploys meant to turn everything into his own personal gain. However, the writers had been sneaking cheap 'Marine 6' promotional bits throughout different instances in the same episode.

For example, his comical backstage segment with The New Day to set-up his match with Kofi later on in the episode was nothing but an entertaining Marine 6 advertisement when you think about it.

The Miz refers to his fans as "The Mariners", as The New Day use his embarrassing loss from last week in order to spin the story forward. The New Day also keep the viewers hooked by purposefully referring to the movie as "The Marine 6: Close Quarters starring Becky Lynch". Of course, the segment only ends with everyone realizing that Big E's character had indeed watched the movie all along, hence, proving that he had been a 'mariner' after all!

The writers deserve some credit here for plugging a movie and pushing the story forward at the same time.
