3 WWE Superstars who could face Goldberg if he decides to return at SummerSlam

Goldberg made his return to the squared circle at Super ShowDown last month, in a dream match between him and the Undertaker in Saudi Arabia.

Unfortunately, that dream match turned into a disaster and Goldberg lost to the Phenom.

Prior to match in Saudi Arabia, Goldberg's last run was two years ago. After a gap of twelve years, Goldberg came back to WWE in 2016, and it was certainly a delightful moment for the fans as the WCW legend returned to the ring. He immediately showed his dominant persona by defeating Brock Lesnar in less than two minutes at Survivor Series that year. The former Atlanta Falcon defensive tackle went on to win the Universal Title at Fastlane, where he pinned Kevin Owens in just twenty one seconds. Subsequently, he dropped the Universal Title to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33.

SummerSlam, the biggest show of the summer, is now less than a month away. Since it's the second biggest pay-per-view after WrestleMania, we could see some notable names appear on the card. Considering Goldberg made his most recent WWE return at Super ShowDown, he could be part of this show, as well.

Here are three possible opponents for Goldberg, if he decides to wrestle at SummerSlam.

#3 Bobby Lashley

Bobby Lashley could be an excellent choice to fight Goldberg at SummerSlam. Lashley just had an impressive rivalry with Braun Strowman, as the two men tussled at Extreme Rules. Judging by the scenario this week, their feud probably ended at that show.

Similar to Goldberg, Lashley is known as a powerhouse. Due to his gigantic size, he is certainly one of the most powerful men in WWE. Goldberg had similar strength in his prime and two Superstars could deliver an entertaining match in the squared circle.

Since returning to WWE last year, Lashley is having a fairly ordinary run. A remarkable rivalry with Goldberg could rejuvenate the career of the two-time Intercontinental Champion.

#2 Roman Reigns

A match between Roman Reigns and Goldberg could be a dream match and WWE will not hesitate to book it at SummerSlam. The Big Dog teamed up with the Undertaker to fight the team of Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon at Extreme Rules. Shane McMahon has started a new feud with Kevin Owens, so the Big Dog is looking for a new opponent.

Goldberg already expressed his interest to fight Roman Reigns in the past. While he is certainly one of the most dominant Superstars of Vince McMahon's company, Reigns is not that far away, either. Apart from winning multiple titles, the Big Dog also main-evented WrestleMania four times.

Considering both men use the Spear as one of their signature moves, the company could promote it as 'Spear vs Spear' match. Though the match could be short, it could also be exciting for the fans. The fans will be eager to see whose Spear is more effective to get the job done.

#1 The Undertaker

A rematch?
A rematch?

Goldberg's Super ShowDown opponent, The Undertaker, could be a surprising name here after their last disastrous match. As bad as the match was, however, it was a titanic draw. Following the match in Saudi Arabia, the Deadman returned within a month and he competed in the aforementioned tag match at Extreme Rules. Considering SummerSlam is around the corner, he is likely to be part of the show.

Their last bout was awful for many reasons. Due to the age of both men, they were slow in the ring and they could have been seriously injured. The former Universal Champion was also busted open in the early part of the match. While Undertaker botched the Tombstone Piledriver, Goldberg also failed to deliver a proper Jackhammer.

Both men could rectify the mistakes of their last match next month at SummerSlam. There is no denying that the two veterans are capable of delivering a better match. A rematch will allow Goldberg to obtain redemption for his previous loss at Super ShowDown.
