3 possible reasons why The Miz has been drafted to Monday Night Raw

The Superstar Shake-up has finally begun after weeks of anticipation. The first draft that happened for Raw was former WWE Champion, The Miz. The trade was quite shocking as just last year he went from Raw to SmackDown to feud with Daniel Bryan.

The Miz interrupted Stephanie McMahon's first pick in the Superstar Shake-up for Raw and then went on to brawl with Shane McMahon who defeated him at WrestleMania 35 in a Falls Count Anywhere match after a controversial finish.

The Miz's arrival on Raw will have a huge impact on his own WWE career and the landscape of WWE's flagship show. There are many possible reasons for his arrival on Raw. So here are 3 possible reasons why The Miz has been switched to the red brand.

#3 He is not needed on SmackDown anymore

Last year when The Miz was drafted to SmackDown, it was just to resume his rivalry with Daniel Bryan after the latter was cleared for in-ring competition. And the stars had an incredible feud during last year's SummerSlam pay-per-view.

But that feud is over and both stars had a character change before WrestleMania 35. Since then Miz has been feuding with Shane McMahon (after a short stint as a tag team) and Bryan became WWE Champion, only to lose the title against Kofi Kingston.

There are enough mid-card stars on SmackDown, and Miz should be on Raw instead of SmackDown. This will create opportunities for him to bring the Raw mid-card division to the fore with his incredible talent.

#2 To bring back the Intercontinental Title prestige

Let's be honest here, since The Miz lost the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 34 to Seth Rollins and moved over to SmackDown last year, the title has been completely lost in the shuffle by getting exchanged between superstars every few months.

Rollins tried to keep the title important by putting up open challenges, but even he exchanged the title various times with Dolph Ziggler. Then Bobby Lashley and Finn Balor exchanged the title multiple times during WrestleMania season.

In short, the Intercontinental Title has lost its entire prestige in the past one year. With The Miz arriving on Raw, there is some hope that the title will be back on The A-Lister's shoulders. From then on, the Intercontinental title will probably become "must-see" once again.

If Miz can make the Intercontinental title a "must see" title, how about making the Universal Title a "must see". Just like the Intercontinental Title, WWE has made the Universal Title also suffer on Raw, with Brock Lesnar holding it for much of the past two years.

Seth Rollins finally defeated The Beast at WrestleMania 35 to become the Universal Champion. But I believe with The Miz arriving on Raw, he should be given an opportunity to compete for the Universal Title.

It's been nearly seven years since The Miz last competed in the main event picture. He should return to the main event scene, after all, he has changed his character in these seven years. He has improved as an in-ring competitor and promo cutter considerably.
