Finn Balor is the new Intercontinental Champion

The Boss of the Balor Club, Finn Balor, became the Intercontinental Champion after defeating Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush in a 2-on-1 handicap match at Elimination Chamber.

With the creative finally showing trust in him, it was very much expected that Finn would walk out as the new Intercontinental Champion from Elimination Chamber.

Balor made headlines when he replaced Braun Strowman in the Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble, however, in spite of giving a stellar performance, he was pushed back into the mid cards on the very next night.

However, with the Demon King finally becoming the new Intercontinental Champion, it would not be wrong to say that the former Universal Champion finally got what he deserved. Also, fans would be hoping that it is just the mere beginning for him and he scales to new heights.

With Finn becoming the new Intercontinental Champion, it might not only make the title relevant again, given he is crazily over among fans, but would also provide WWE with ample mouthwatering feuds and storyline options.

So, keeping WrestleMania 35 in mind, we take a look at 3 potential feuds for Finn Balor as the new Intercontinental Champion.

#3 Finn Balor vs EC3 vs Aleister Black

Well, Aleister black made his WWE main roster debut last night on Raw and he not only went on to defeat Elias Samson but impressed critics and the WWE Universe alike.

While on another note, EC3 made heads turn after defeating Dean Ambrose in no time in his debut match a few weeks ago on Raw. However, WWE goofed up a bit as Ethan succumbed to a loss last week on Raw and is currently not a part of any storyline.

Thus, WWE could bring together the combustible trio of Balor, Black, and EC3 to put together a feud for the ages. It would not only spice things up a bit in the mid cards on the Raw roster but could also be one of those "Match of the year" contenders.

On another note, it would be a great idea if WWE turns EC3 heel in this feud (given the reports of how he was unhappy after his loss last week).

All in all, Balor vs Black vs EC3 for the Intercontinental Championship would certainly be 'best for business'.

#2 Finn Balor vs Bray Wyatt vs (Luke Harper)

Both Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper have been cleared to compete and could return to WWE anytime soon.

Given the history and the fierce rivalry that Balor and Bray share between them, WWE could very well have The leader of the Wyatt Family return and attack Finn Balor to lay down the breadcrumbs for a classic feud for the Intercontinental Championship.

Also, with Eric Rowan acting as the muscle of Daniel Bryan, the only Wyatt Family member left would be Luke Harper, while there is a high probability that Harper may return as a babyface to take on Rowan, WWE could also have Harper accompany Bray and later turn on him to lay the foundation for a triple threat match at WrestleMania 35.

Thus, WWE could have Wyatt vs Balor for the championship at Fastlane and later have Harper turn on Bray to set up a classic triple threat match for WrestleMania 35.

#1 Finn Balor vs Bobby Lashley vs Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens is expected to return soon

Well, The Prizefighter, Kevin Owens, is expected to return very soon and WWE has been airing vignettes, hyping the same.

On another note, after losing his Intercontinental title to The Demon King, Lashley with his manager Lio Rush attacked Balor last night on Raw, only for Ricochet to show up and make the save, setting a tag team match.

Also, it should be noted that Kevin Owens got injured during his feud with the Almighty and it makes total sense that he goes after Lashley upon his return to the main roster.

Thus, this automatically sets up a classic three-way feud for the Intercontinental Championship. Also, given how WWE is very fond of multi-man matches when it comes to mid-card titles, they might also add Ricochet or Sami Zayn to the feud.

This would then set up an absolute classic for The Grandest Stage Of Them All.
