The Biggest Party of the Summer has just been concluded, and to be honest, what a wild, wild night this has been.

From the return of The Rated-R Superstar Edge in the kick-off show to Bill Goldberg absolutely decimating Dolph Ziggler, the show had its highs and lows. Nonetheless, WWE deserves a pat on the back as most of the matches exceeded expectations. Personally, The Fiend squashing Finn Balor was one of the standout moments of the show for me. I mean, a squash match has never been that amusing.

However, the biggest highlight of the show was Seth Rollins slaying the Beast to become the new Universal Champion. Yes, folks, you read that right. Seth Rollins has truly slain The Beast.

Brock Lesnar was scheduled to defend the Universal Championship against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2019. However, little did we know what WWE had up its sleeve.

While a win for The Beast was highly speculated, Vince McMahon crowned Seth Rollins a the new Universal Champion and to be honest, it did come as a pleasant surprise to many, given Lesnar dropping the Championship this soon was not expected.

However, all that is in the rearview mirror now and it would be interesting to see what plans WWE have for Rollins as the new Universal Champion.

Who will emerge as the new challenger for the Universal Championship? In this article we are going to take a look at 3 potential feuds for Rollins as the new Universal Champion.

#3 Drew McIntyre

It seems to be on the cards
It seems to be on the cards

Let's start with the obvious one.

I know I am saying this for the umpteenth time but Drew McIntyre deserves a title run more than anyone else in WWE at the current moment. He has worked his way to the top of the food chain and deserves a lot of credit for being a major player for WWE in the absence of The Big Dog.

However, The Scottish Psychopath has been a bit neglected in the past few months. But with Heyman now being in charge of the red brand, the odds of McIntyre finally getting the much-deserved push have increased drastically.

Also, one should not forget the rivalry that the duo share. Thus, WWE could reignite the rivalry by having McIntyre emerge to challenge Rollins for the Universal Championship in the coming days.

#2 The Fiend

Will The Fiend be Rollins' next challenger?
Will The Fiend be Rollins' next challenger?

Bray Wyatt was scheduled to face Finn Balor at SummerSlam 2019 and while a squash match seemed always on the cards, given Balor is scheduled to take a break very soon, nobody would have expected how things unfolded. Be it the cool entrance or the look of sheer disbelief and horror on Balor's face, WWE did tremendously well to push Wyatt as the new face of fear.

However, with The Fiend squashing Balor the existing feud between the duo has certainly come to an end and it would be interesting to see who emerges as the new opponent for Wyatt.

One such name could be Seth Rollins. While the duo shares quite a history between them, WWE pushing Wyatt in the main event scene would not seem wrong as he is riding high on momentum. Also, it would be quite fascinating to see The Fiend pushing Rollins to his physical and mental limits.

#1 Kevin Owens

It would be huge
It would be huge

Kevin Owens defeated the former SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon at SummerSlam in what easily was one of the best matches of the night. Thus, it would be fair to say that the ongoing feud between the two has come to an end.

While a win for KO was always on the cards, given the rumors of WWE having huge plans for him, it would be interesting to see what WWE has in store for Owens in the coming days. I mean, it was expected that the former Universal Champion would likely be feuding against the winner of Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton match. However, creative is likely to prolong the ongoing feud between The Viper and Kofi after how things went last night.

Thus, one possible option for KO could be a championship feud against Seth Rollins. Given that Owens is very high on confidence and momentum, plus, the rumors of WWE giving him a big push, a feud between the duo doesn't seem far fetched. Who knows, if the breadcrumbs for the same is laid down on the upcoming episode of Raw.
