AOP could be likened to the Legion of Doom

In the 1980s and 1990s, the Legion of Doom (LOD) was one of wrestling's most dominant tag teams. Their success generated acclaim and set targets. Nevertheless, in modern wrestling, their presence and aura have been had to match. However, in 2016 WWE introduced perhaps the closest team to match them. Their names; The Authors of Pain (AOP), Akam and Rezar.

Debuting in 2016 for the NXT brand AOP made an instant impression alongside their former manager Paul Ellering. Their similarities and dominance to LOD brought nostalgia back to WWE fans. During their NXT tenure, AOP conquered the tag team division. They earned the NXT Tag Team championship. Moreover, the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team classic in 2016. They participated in notable matches against; The Revival and Undisputed Era.

In April 2018 AOP transitioned to Raw. Since then AOP has dominated all competition, under their new manager, Drake Maverick, (watch the video below). What makes AOP worthy, is their excellent ring work. They possess combined; power, strength, impact, and agility. Their combined abilities are unique and entertaining.

Considering their dominance and the weakness of other tag team matches now is the perfect time for AOP to become champions.
