WWE is known for their controversial PPV finishes. But what we saw at Crown Jewel was absolutely awful. The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler was the finale for the WWE World Cup tournament, where Miz got injured and was unable to continue. The referee was about to award Ziggler the trophy but Shane interfered and stopped him from doing so.
Shane McMahon obviously defeats Dolph Ziggler and is crowned the World Cup winner. During all this, Baron Corbin was told to leave the arena by the referee and he had no say in any of this.
This is one of the most pathetic bookings from WWE in a long time. It makes absolutely no sense and I really look forward to see how they explain this on Smackdown Live. We know this trophy doesn't matter after the show. But WWE thought too much and a surprise resulted in an awful piece of booking.
