3 Raw Main Events from 2017 you may not remember

Raw is WWE’s premier weekly show, which airs live every Monday night. This show debuted on 11th January 1993 and has been the company’s flagship show since then.

The red brand is a tough show to book as it has an exhausting running time of three hours and, with major pay-per-views taking place every four weeks, the writers have no option but to drag feuds to a dull length by putting in some filler content.

The creative team puts its finest efforts to showcase the best talent in the locker room every week, yet, sometimes, Monday Night Raw leaves much to be desired. However, WWE Universe often forgets such below-par episodes and, to fix just that, this countdown will take you on a trip down the memory lane.

#3 Braun Strowman vs Apollo Crews, 3rd July 2017

Yes, this match main-evented Raw!

I bet you do not remember this match taking place as the main event on Raw. In July, Strowman versus Reigns was the main feud on the red brand as they geared up for their Ambulance Match at the next PPV, Great Balls of Fire.

The Monster Among Men had laid waste of the Big Dog seven nights ago and demanded more competition, which is typical of him. Sensing an opportunity, Titus Worldwide's Titus O'Neil convinced his partner, Apollo Crews, to grab the chance and gain some much-needed spotlight.

It turned out to be one of the most lop-sided match-ups as Strowman sent Crews packing inside 5 minutes despite the latter’s impressive attempt to tame the Monster.

Result: Braun Strowman defeated Apollo Crews (with Titus O' Neil)

#2 Jason Jordan vs Elias vs Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy vs Bo Dallas vs Curtis Axel, 18th September 2017

A chaotic main event took place to decide Miz's next challenger

A unique six-pack challenge match closed Raw few weeks before the No Mercy PPV to determine the new #1 contender for The Miz's Intercontinental Championship. This match was a fatal 4-way involving Elias, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy and Jason Jordan.

The Miz himself got involved twice in this match, helping his allies, by throwing the former American Alpha member into the crowd and, then, breaking the pin after the Charismatic Enigma executed a Swanton Bomb on Axel.

However, the Must-see Star's efforts were not fruitful as Jordan executed a picture-perfect Angle slam-neckbreaker on the Axe-man for the win, setting up his one-on-one title match against The Miz.

Result: Jason Jordan defeated Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas, Elias, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy to become the #1 contender for Intercontinental Championship

#1 Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and the Hardy Boyz vs The Bar and The Club, 11th September 2017

Rollins Ambrose Hardy Boyz
This main event match was completely random!

In September last year, Raw revolved around two blockbuster feuds, namely, Roman Reigns vs John Cena and Braun Strowman vs Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. However, that day it seemed like the writers altogether had no better idea than a random tag team match to close the show.

The then-Raw Tag Team Champions Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins teamed up with the Hardy Boyz to battle The Bar and The Club. An interesting fact is that despite The Bar and The Club colliding twice in two weeks before this match, they still worked together as a well-oiled machine.

The match ended with the face team's hands raised in the air, thanks to a combo move of Rollins’ knee strike and Ambrose’s Dirty Deeds, which was enough to seal the deal on a day when Raw ended with another display of lazy booking.
