Even though Cesaro lost the encounter, the match highlighted why the WWE fans rate him so highly. There was never a question about his in-ring ability, but the lack of personality on the mic might have been why Cesaro never got a push.

However, during the bout, we saw a side of Cesaro that we never saw before. He was playing mind-games with Black right from the moment he knocked at his door, and even the promo which Cesaro did was short but excellent.

During the game, Cesaro tried telling a story and managed to do it successfully. He sat cross-legged – Black’s famous style – and smiled at Black to make the match something more than just two men beating each other.

Black, meanwhile, was pushed to his best by Cesaro. The Dutch Destroyer brought his best moves and executed them perfectly – and why wouldn’t he? When you have someone like Cesaro performing with you, you are bound to be motivated to be at your best.

Also, Black’s performance was seen by a much broader set of audience than while he was at NXT. A few more of these and he could become a fan favorite in no time!
