Since last fall, WWE Superstar Becky Lynch has been on a tear with her "The Man" moniker which has resonated with the WWE Universe at a time from the WWE Women's Division was undergoing a renaissance with more unique characters, longer matches and more meaningful storylines. Some pro wrestling analysts have even labelled her the female version of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin due in large part with their paralleling personalities of taking the WWE brass to a whole new level.

And so let's dissect the three main reasons on why Lynch is truly "The Man" in the WWE right now.

#3 She Was Not Hired Solely For Her Looks

Before Lynch came into the WWE back in 2013, the WWE Women's Division (then known as the WWE Divas Division) primarily consisted of former swimsuit and fitness models who had a lack of pro wrestling experience or knowledge.

Women such as Kelly Kelly, Eve Torres, Candice Michelle, Michelle McCool, Kristal Marshall, Maryse, Brooke Adams, Layla, Torrie Wilson, Sharmell, Jackie Gayda, Stacy Keibler, Maria Kanellis, Ashley Massaro, Lena Yada, Tiffany, Alicia Fox, Brie and Nikki Bella and Eva Marie (pictured) were among the many women who were scouted by the WWE due to their eye-catching looks.

The majority of those women were recruited by former WWE Head of Talent John Laurinaitis who was notorious for hiring models as well as bodybuilders and former football players while largely avoiding the indie circuit. There were a few women at the time such as Gail Kim, Mickie James, Victoria, A.J. Lee, Paige, Beth Phoenix, Natalya and Katie Lea Burchill who were experienced wrestlers prior to joining the WWE but they were exceptions to the rule.

Things began to change in the WWE Women's Division back in 2012 when Triple H replaced Laurinatitis. It became very evident that Triple H wasn't a fan of eye candy as he wanted the WWE Women's Division to consist of serious wrestlers much like Shimmer has. He then hired indie wrestlers such as trainer Sara Amato, Sasha Banks, Asuka, Bayley, Ruby Riott and Lynch while most of the eye candy women have either retired or have been released.

These days, the women of the WWE are hired today due in large part of having plenty of independent wrestling experience as opposed to having supermodel looks due to a large in a change in the recruiting policy made by Triple H.

Lynch was one of those many independent wrestlers who was hired by The Game back in 2013. At that time, she was known as Rebecca Knox who had already made a name for herself in the indies which have included stops with Shimmer, SuperGirls Wrestling and All Pro Wrestling, among others.

By 2015, Lynch along with the rest of the Four Horsewomen (Charlotte Flair, Bayley and Sasha Banks) began to change the WWE Universe's perception of the WWE Women being eye candy by having stellar matches in WWE NXT. As a result, the Divas moniker suddenly began to lose its lustre alongside the equally loathed butterfly belt.

#1 She Is Very Over With The Fans

One of the many problems with the female talents during the Divas Era is that most of the women lack character and are seeming presented as one-dimensional talents. Sure Michelle McCool and Layla (known as Team Lay-Cool) as well as Vickie Guerrero were over with the WWE Universe to some extent, but they were few, far and between.

These days, each of the female talents have a unique character, whether it's Sasha Banks' The Boss to Bayley's kid-appeal Hugger to Asuka's Geisha Girl to Charlotte Flair's The Queen to Ruby Riott's Punk Girl to Carmella's Jersey Girl to Alexa Bliss' The Goddess to Mandy Rose's Blonde Bombshell to Naomi's glowing entrance, these women have various personalities unlike the generic good girl babyface or the mean girl heel during the Divas Era.

Lynch's The Man has resonated with the WWE Universe with her anti-hero demeanor which in large part as served as a foil to the likes of Ronda Rousey, Stephanie McMahon and even Triple H with her no-holds-barred attitude. She has been one of the frontiers of the Women's revolution. She, along with the likes of Banks, Bayley etc, have changed how the Women's division has been viewed in the company. In addition, she can play the babyface and the heel with equal success. The fans absolutely love it and can thank Lynch for putting the WWE Women's Division to a whole new level.
