3 reasons why Kevin Owens attacked Shane McMahon on SmackDown Live

A stunner leaves SmackDown on a high
A stunner leaves SmackDown on a high

This week's SmackDown Live is now in the rear-view mirror. The show had a host of segments that were great because they delivered on all horizons, whether it be entertainment on the mic or performance in the ring. With an explosive start featuring Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens to an end featuring the two, we were all stunned from the moment the blue brand started broadcasting this week.

During the two-hour broadcast, one thing was the talking point, and that was Kevin Owens' involvement in a storyline with Shane McMahon. The Prizefighter and The Prodigal Son were involved in action all through the night, and it may be fair to say that the two are heading to SummerSlam with a match between the ropes.

While that's a sure shot situation, I list down reasons why Kevin Owens attacked Shane O'Mac on this week's episode:

#3 To Hype The Momentum From Last Week

It would be fair to say that last week's promo by Kevin Owens was the best in the history of the blue brand. While some compared it to the pipebomb promo from CM Punk, the impact of last week's promo had everyone in the audience talking.

WWE officials could feel the vibe, and by keeping up with the audience, the team decided to continue the feud from where it ended last week on the blue brand. With such a master of words on the mic, nothing could go wrong for the company and this storyline.

While SummerSlam is a few weeks away, it seems like the company wants to capitalize on this momentum of the Prizefighter and make a match for The Biggest Party Of The Summer that will become the talk of the WWE Universe.

Aren't you invested in the storyline?

#2 Add Legitimacy To His Character

Kevin Owens' promo from last week was received well by all and to add more legitimacy to the character, the company decided to make him the one who would surpass all obstacles to reach to his adversary, Shane McMahon.

This way not only will his character become better but the story will be more intriguing than ever, keeping the fans invested as it unfolds in the coming weeks with more tough challenges, and KO surpassing them with ease. It can be said that if Seth Rollins is the face of Raw, Kevin Owens is the face of SmackDown Live.

It wouldn't surprise me or any ardent WWE fan if these two fight between the ropes down the line at Survivor Series or any other major event.

The last reason is of extreme importance and may happen at SummerSlam, and if it happens the pop will be huge.

#1 Drew McIntyre Will End His Allegiance To Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon has two people by his side that do his dirty work - Drew McIntyre and Elias. While Elias is not involved in any storyline right now, Drew McIntyre may start working as a singles competitor in due time.

The best way for this to happen is at SummerSlam. When the 'Best In The World' is unable to counter and take down The Prizefighter, The Scottish Pschyopath may lose his composure and attack his boss for his constant failure.

While it may not sound like a reality at the moment, the fact that this will get the best pop at the show and may also be the talking point can't be ruled out. Imagine the work that Drew McIntyre and Kevin Owens can do together for the blue brand as it heads towards Fox this coming fall.
