It is adding to the essence of his character. The highlight of the feud between him and Hardy was The Viper stalking Hardy every week. This spooky action exemplifies the psychopath he has become today.
Twisting the screwdriver in Hardy's ear, and still wanting to pin him after he got injured badly in their Hell in a Cell match is the most disgusting thing I have seen in the PG era, and this proves that he is not just another heel, he is a lunatic who will do anything to get his way.
