3 reasons why Vince McMahon is booking a Lars Sullivan vs Lucha House Party feud

Has the Boss given up on the Freak already?

WWE had been hyping the arrival of Lars Sullivan on the main roster for months. Some were even believing that Sullivan would be the most vicious monster heel the company has ever produced. However, after months and months of waiting, Sullivan finally arrived on the main roster, and he now finds himself in a rivalry with the Lucha House Party.

The Lucha House Party is a stable of 3 Luchadores namely Kalisto, Gran Metalik, and Lince Dorado. The Mexican superstars have been feuding with Sullivan on RAW, and given that Sullivan is a SmackDown superstar, this move is confusing.

Also, the fact that he destroyed Kurt Angle on his debut night and then even dismantled Matt Hardy and R-Truth just to end up feuding with Lucha House Party has puzzled the fans.

In this article, we will have a look at the 3 reasons why Vince McMahon is booking a feud between Lars Sullivan and Lucha House Party.

#3 Vince McMahon wants the Freak on the flagship show

Why is a SmackDown Superstar feuding with 3 RAW Superstars?
Why is a SmackDown Superstar feuding with 3 RAW Superstars?

If I am not mistaken, the brand split still exists and all the main event level feuds are taking place between the superstars who are members of the same brand. The Shane McMahon- Roman Reigns feud is an exception, but if you have a look at the other rivalries, all are intra-brand.

It seems like WWE is regretting their decision of drafting Lars Sullivan to the 'B' show. We all know Vince McMahon loves to have giants on his show, and thus, he believes that having Sullivan on RAW will help in gaining viewership. After all, who does not like watching a giant manhandle three smaller superstars.

Though the fans have not shown interest in this feud, Vince may have a different thought process. On the other hand, he did not appear on this week's SmackDown despite showing up on RAW as a wild card.

#2 The right way to push Lars Sullivan

Just look at him!
Just look at him!

Lars Sullivan is destined to become the company's next big heel but it seems like WWE wants Sullivan to properly get adjusted to the main roster environment before he is pushed. Braun Strowman was built the same way, as the Monster Amongst Men used to squash multiple superstars on the same night before he made his way to the singles division.

WWE were even successful in portraying Nia Jax as the Irresistible Force through this booking method. However, both Jax and Strowman are no longer invincible. The only mistakes WWE committed in their booking were the random defeats and the meaningless heel/face turns.

The creative team should learn from their mistakes and make sure they do not mess up Sullivan's character. He should stay a heel at least until WrestleMania 37 because he has got the perfect charisma to portray a monster heel character on TV.

#1 Punishment for his comments

In case you are not aware of the racist comments Sullivan made between 2007 and 2013, I suggest you read this piece:

Yes, this may be the most important reason why WWE has suddenly pushed Lars Sullivan to the lower mid-card. The Lucha House Party have not accomplished anything big in WWE, and if their recent booking is anything to go by, they will never be in the scheme of grand things in the foreseeable future.

It would have been way better for Sullivan had he been allowed to battle with Matt Hardy on SmackDown Live. Though Lars has issued an apology, we all know WWE is a company which runs with the belief that the rules are same for every superstar. Thus, this feud with Lucha House Party seems to be a type of punishment for the Freak.
