3 Rules that WWE forgot at Money in the Bank

Money in the Bank was one crazy PPV. Throughout the night, there were plenty of surprises and shocking results that made fans jump out of their seats in excitement. The announced card of the PPV had plenty of promise, and most of the matches did deliver.

While the PPV was mostly pretty great, there were some moments which were honestly ripping apart the rules and common sense in the matches. They made me as a viewer ask myself "is this really allowed?"

The Steel Cage match between The Miz and Shane McMahon saw some weird refereeing from the official in terms of the rule of "rope break" inside the cage.

The rope break rule, in general, is when a superstar touches the rope to break a submission or a pinfall in a normal match. But these rules are not applicable in no DQ matches like the Steel Cage match tonight.

But the referee of the Steel Cage match either forgot or got confused about this rule, as he allowed Shane McMahon to break a pinfall attempt by The Miz by touching the bottom rope. The announcers, quick to realize the mistake, pointed out that Shane might have paid the referee but it was still very obvious that this was a botch.

A superstar interfering in a match definitely adds to more drama to the match, but isn't it something which is technically not allowed? Shouldn't the officials at least try to ensure that there is no obvious interference in the match that is unfair to the other competitors?

The Women's Money in the Bank ladder match was clearly an exception to this. Firstly, the referees allowed Sonya Deville to be at ringside throughout the match. And if this was not enough, they even let her clearly help Mandy Rose to win the match, though she did not succeed in that.

There was a point in time when I was wondering why so many officials were even out there if they can't ensure the match will go on fairly. WWE needs to take these things seriously if they want to give it a more sports like feeling rather than just entertainment.

The biggest shock of the night saw The Beast Brock Lesnar become the surprise entrant in the Money in the Bank match and become Mr. Money in the Bank. While I genuinely thought this was a great shocker as no one saw it coming, this was a bit weird by common logic.

Lesnar entering the match at the last moment to win it was a surprise, but my question is whether that should be allowed. The commentators mentioned that The Beast was the 8th participant in the match after Sami Zayn was taken out of the match due to an attack earlier on the show.

While Lesnar taking him out and entering the match is fine, shouldn't he at least be competing from the beginning? We all saw how much suffering and pain the other wrestlers took in the match. And then there is The Beast who comes down in the end, throws Ali off the ladder, grabs the briefcase and smiles at everyone sitting on top of a ladder.

I won't be surprised if one of the wrestlers in the match point this out tomorrow on RAW and accuse Vince of favoring Brock so much.
