3 Streaks that could be broken at WWE Royal Rumble 2019

All good things must come to an end. Similarly, every streak has its end. The Undertaker's WrestleMania win streak was no exception, neither was Asuka's or Goldberg's undefeated streak. WWE often does a brilliant job at protecting streaks.

When they decide to break it, it often gives the fans a moment to remember. No one can forget the reaction of the fan in the front row when Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX.

Even though WWE is not advertising any streaks or records at the moment, it does not mean that there aren't any. Quite a few streaks are in the danger of being broken at this year's Royal Rumble PPV. In this article, we will be taking a look at a few streaks that could be potentially broken at the event.

#3 Finn Balor's undefeated PPV streak in singles matches

Finn Balor has lost a lot of matches in WWE. However, since getting promoted to the main roster, the former Bullet Club leader has never lost a singles match in a PPV. He had suffered losses in various multi-man matches during this time. For example, the 2018 Elimination Chamber match, fatal 5-way match at Extreme Rules 2017 etc.

He won the Universal Championship in his PPV debut against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2016. He won his match against Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam and No Mercy, AJ Styles at TLC all in 2017 and Baron Corbin at Extreme Rules and SummerSlam in 2018.

And last, but not the least, Balor conquered Drew McIntyre - with a little help from Dolph Ziggler. However, since Brock Lesnar is heavily favoured to retain the Universal Championship, this streak may come to an abrupt end at Royal Rumble.

#2 Rusev's traditional Royal Rumble match appearance streak

Rusev has never missed a Royal Rumble match since his debut.

While there is no law forbidding someone who has a match on the PPV to appear in the Royal Rumble match, it is possible that this may be the case with Rusev.

Since making his Royal Rumble match appearance at the 2014 edition, Rusev has appeared in every single traditional Rumble match since then. In 2014, he did not last long. In 2015, the Bulgarian Brute was the runner up.

In 2016, he came in at number 2 and was eliminated quickly by then WWE Champion Roman Reigns. In 2017, Rusev lasted just 22 minutes. In 2018, he came in at number 2 again and lasted half an hour.

With Rusev being scheduled to defend his United States Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura, there is a huge chance that Rusev's little streak of Royal Rumble appearance may snap this year.

#1 Ronda Rousey's winning streak in singles matches

Ronda Rousey made her first WWE appearance at the Royal Rumble event previous year. After Asuka won the inaugural women's Rumble match, Ronda came to the ring and pointed at the WrestleMania sign.

Since then she has been wrestling regularly on RAW, unlike her male counterpart Brock Lesnar. Rousey has been fairly consistent in the ring and is yet to lose a single's match. She was undefeated in any formats in WWE until the last episode of RAW, where the team of Sasha Banks and Bayley defeated the team of Natalya and Rousey.

However, since Natalya tapped out in that match, Ronda's unpinned/unsubmitted streak is still safe. Rousey has defeated the likes of Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, Natalya and Alicia Fox in the past few months. So, can Sasha Banks do the unthinkable and defeat the Baddest Woman on the Planet?
