Money in the Bank first pay-per-view after the Show of Shows, the fans were eagerly waiting for the show. The company did not let down the fans as we saw a great event.

The show took place at XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Eleven matches were on the card with two Money in the Bank Ladder matches. Since Becky Lynch defended her two belts on the same night, all eyes were on The Man. Becky Lynch put her RAW Women's Title on the line against Lacey Evans. The Man overcame the Sassy Southern Belle but the former failed to defend her SmackDown Women's Championship successfully. Charlotte Flair became a nine-time Women's Champion after defeating Becky Lynch.

On the other hand, Bayley won the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder match. Interestingly, The Queen could not celebrate her victory for a long time as Bayley cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase and became the SmackDown Women's Champion. Bayley grabbed the most coveted women's title of the blue brand for the first time in her career.

Here, we discuss three possible theories why Bayley won the SmackDown Women's Title at Money in the Bank.

#3 To avoid another title reign of Charlotte Flair

Charlotte won it multiple times
Charlotte won it multiple times

Charlotte Flair won the Women's Title nine times, while she grabbed the blue belt five times. The Queen's previous title reign was before WrestleMania when she defeated Asuka to win the SmackDown Women's Champion. The Women's roster is stacked with some talented Superstars and a majority of fans are tired of seeing Charlotte in the title picture.

Charlotte Flair has been in the main roster for just four years but she is already a nine-time women's champion. There is no denying that Charlotte is extremely talented in the squared circle, but it is tedious and fans might love to see a new champion.

Bayley's last singles title reign was in 2017 when she won the most coveted women's title of the red brand. Considering the Hugger is also a fan favourite, it could be a fresh sight to see her as the SmackDown Women's Champion.

#2 A possible new feud between Bayley and Becky Lynch

A possible feud could be on the cards

There is no denying that Becky Lynch is currently the hottest thing in WWE. Though The Man lost her blue belt at XL Center, she is still the holder of the red belt. Considering the momentum of Lynch, a feud with the RAW Women's Champion could elevate a Superstar.

It is a shame that Becky Lynch and Bayley never had a long feud on the main roster. As a matter of fact, the two horsewomen locked horns for the first time on the main roster a few weeks ago when Lynch defeated Bayley. Hence, a fresh feud between Lynch and Bayley could be exciting for the WWE Universe.

Since the introduction of the Wild Card Rule, some Superstars could appear on the other brand. We could see the long rivalry between Bayley and Lynch with the help of Wild Card Rule. Lynch could demand a rematch of the SmackDown Women's Champion and the rivalry could continue till Summerslam.

#1 Bayley is a deserving candidate

Bayley deserves the chance

Bayley has been one of the most underutilized Superstars in recent years and she certainly deserves to be the top star of the company. The Hugger could rejuvenate her career if she manages to have an impressive title reign as the SmackDown Women's Champion.

Bayley was a colossal name in NXT where she had plenty of success. Besides winning the NXT Women's Championship, she offered some memorable matches on the developmental brand. Bayley was expected to be a top-tier star of the women's division when she moved to the main roster.

Earlier, she had notable success on the red brand as she won the RAW Women's Title but her push got derailed after she lost the belt. The current SmackDown Women's Champion did not have significant success as a singles competitor in the last two years.

Considering Bayley's popularity and dexterity in the ring, she definitely deserves to be a top Superstar. It could be a new beginning of Bayley's career and she might rediscover herself in the company as the SmackDown's Women's Champion.
