3 things WWE got right at Super ShowDown 2019, and 2 things they got wrong
WWE Super ShowDown 2019 is in the history books and the show was a huge affair.
The third pay per view in the company's decade-long deal with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the WWE wanted to give a huge show for the Saudi live crowd, as well as the millions watching around the world. Delivering on that promise, the show featured three huge title matches, as well as a gigantic 50-man Battle Royal which was won by an unlikely victor.
In addition, the show saw the first ever match between The Undertaker and Goldberg, as both men tried to claim their superiority over the other.
Here are three things WWE got right at Super ShowDown 2019, as well as two things that could have been a whole lot better.
#3 Got it right: Kofi Vs. Dolph booked to a tee
Ten years ago, no-one would've dreamed that Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler would battle it out at a WrestleMania-esque WWE Pay per view, for the WWE Championship. And yet in 2019, just that has happened, and the match, and feud were booked to a tee.
Throughout the contest, Ziggler continued to play mind games with Kingston, and it seemed at times that the Showoff was going to become the 52nd WWE champion. Shrieking to everyone that "it should've been me!" Ziggler's character work was in full effect in Jeddah, though a distraction by Xavier Woods cost the Showoff everything.
A perfect end to this match, I expect great things when Kingston puts his title on the line once more against the ZigZag man, this time in a Steel Cage at WWE Stomping Grounds.
