WWE Raw: 3 things WWE got right on this week's RAW and 2 things they got wrong

We are now less than two weeks away from the biggest show of the year, WrestleMania 35.

And last night, the men and women of RAW (as well as some from SmackDown Live), aimed to show why they belong on the grandest stage of them all.

We saw Kurt Angle's farewell tour continue, as he faced an old adversary, as well a huge championship match added to the biggest show of the year, featuring one of WWE's most beloved Superstars of all time.

But not everything was great with this week, which had plenty of pitfalls.

Here are three things the WWE got spot-on on this week's edition of Monday Night RAW, as well as two things that could have been a whole lot better:

3: Got it right: Samoa Joe Vs. Kurt Angle

Angle was able to defeat his fellow TNA alum ahead of his farewell match at WrestleMania 35.

Kurt Angle's farewell tour continues, and it seems like the Olympian is picking the very best opponents as he continues on the route to his final WWE match at WrestleMania 35.

After defeating Chad Gable last week, Angle chose to face SmackDown's United States Champion Samoa Joe, in a rematch from the pair's time in Impact Wrestling.

As you can imagine, the match was great, as these two have faced off plenty of times outside the WWE, and know each other well.

Whilst it was strange to have Angle face a SmackDown star on Monday Night (and Joe wasn't the only blue brand Superstar in competition), that doesn't take away from the fact that this was a great match.

Expect more good things tonight, when Angle faces fellow TNA alum AJ Styles in the Olympian's very last match on SmackDown.

2: No Lesnar and no Batista

Both the reigning Universal Champion and the Animal were nowhere to be seen this week on RAW.
Both the reigning Universal Champion and the Animal were nowhere to be seen this week on RAW.

We are less than two weeks away from the biggest show of the year, and WWE are pulling out every stop to make WrestleMania 35 a night to remember.

And yet, fans can't help but notice some serious empty spots on the road to WrestleMania, namely by the Animal Batista, and the reigning Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

We all know that the Beast's contract is, relaxed to say the least, but one would hope that this match, which may be Lesnar's final bout as Universal Champion, would get him going.

A video promo from either men would've definitely made tonight's show, as well as the build to WrestleMania, mean so much more.

Lesnar is scheduled to appear next week on RAW, so take that for what it's worth.

2: Got it right: Balor is Mania bound

Will the Extraordinary Man release the Demon King at WrestleMania?
Will the Extraordinary Man release the Demon King at WrestleMania?

Despite having some shaky booking since his debut on the main roster in 2016, Finn Balor continues to be one of RAW's most popular Superstars.

The first Universal Champion, Balor only held the title for a day, and his recent Intercontinental title reign was also noticeably short.

But in defeating Bobby Lashley and his surprise partner Jinder Mahal this week on RAW, the Extraordinary Man earned a shot at regaining the gold at WrestleMania 35.

Lashley and Balor have had entertaining matches in the past, though it definitely feels like this match at the showcase of the immortals will be the last bout between two of RAW's biggest stars.

And with so much on the line, and Lashley being such a dominant opponent, will the former NXT Champion unleash the Demon King?

1: Got it wrong: Braun Strowman

Once feuding for the Universal title, Strowman now picks fights with SNL comedians.
Once feuding for the Universal title, Strowman now picks fights with SNL comedians.

Just six months ago, it seemed that Braun Strowman was destined to become the next Universal Champion and was massively popular with the fans.

Flash-forward to today though, and Strowman is still popular, though it's clear to see that the company have given up on the Monster Among Men.

Having the Greatest Royal Rumble winner in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal doesn't exactly scream confidence, but things were made worse.

Now feuding with SNL's Colin Jost and Michael Che, the pair have been added to the Battle Royal, an addition nobody predicted, for good reason.

It seems that the vast majority of fans didn't want to see the two Saturday night stars appear at WrestleMania.

At least Strowman could possibly win the match at the showcase of the immortals... pre-show.

1: The Man reigns supreme in Beat the Clock action

The Man got a huge win ahead of her WrestleMania main event.
The Man got a huge win ahead of her WrestleMania main event.

For the first time ever, WrestleMania will be main evented by a Women's division match, as RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey hopes to retain the gold against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.

A huge match, this has been made very personal with Lynch's barbs against the UFC Hall of Famer, who started this week's show by claiming she is the sole reason for this match being the main event.

Meeting the Riott Squad in a beat the clock sprint this week, Rousey set an impressive time, one that Flair was unable to match, though it was Lynch who won out in the end, defeating Rousey's time with just seven seconds to spare.

What will this huge win by Lynch mean for all three combatants, less than two weeks from WrestleMania 35.
