Dirtsheets began spoiling major news way before it happened on TV. This phenomenon gave rise to a bunch of interesting and memorable moments where fans came into the arena with a completely changed stance. The main event kicked off and the fans seemed to be into it. Lesnar and The Rock had an incredible back and forth, but the fans suddenly turned on The Rock in the midst of the match. The reason? Thanks to the power of the web, it was public knowledge by that point that The Rock was leaving WWE following SummerSlam, to resume his Hollywood career. After the show went off the air, The Rock cut a heel promo, giving a taste of what was to come when he would return in early 2003.

One of the biggest examples of what the internet is capable of doing is the following case featuring the three-way real-life story between Edge & Lita, and Matt Hardy. In April 2005, Lita was still a babyface, and was wth Kane in an on-screen capacity.

Lita and a heel Trish Stratus had an in-ring exchange on an episode of Raw, but the crowd was surprisingly anti-Lita, who came down to the ring on crutches. The news of what happened between Lita and Matt Hardy was all over the internet by that time, and fans didn't shy away from giving Lita a piece of their mind.
