Triple H pretending to attack Stephanie
Soon after Triple H lost the WWE title to Vince McMahon and won it back at Unforgiven 1999, he made things incredibly personal with the WWE Chairman. Triple H successfully defended the belt against Stone Cold at No Mercy, and later lost it to Big Show at Survivor Series. Around that time, Stephanie McMahon was engaged to Test, and they had an in-ring ceremony on RAW. Triple H crashed the segment when he revealed that he and Stephanie had gotten married in a drive-through ceremony, while the latter was in an unconscious state.
Stephanie made it clear that she hated Triple H, but things soon took an insidious turn. The Game and Vince McMahon met in a No Holds Barred match at Armageddon 1999. The duo brawled throughout the arena, and beat each other to a pulp. In the end, Triple H scored a victory. In a surprising turn of events, Stephanie revealed that she was aligned with Triple H all this time, thus marking the start of The McMahon-Helmsley Era.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
