3 Ways The Rock Could Get Himself Involved in WrestleMania 34

It's not WrestleMania without a few big surprises, and one of the heaviest rumored surprises for this year's event is an appearance from the great one himself, The Rock.

The Rock missed last year's WrestleMania but has been present at every other Mania going all the way back to WrestleMania 27, and it seems perfectly reasonable that he may make a brief appearance in New Orleans on Sunday night.

Whether his performance is during a match, or just during some sort of segment remains to be seen, but with there being a blockbuster 14 matches on this year's card, and an alleged seven-hour run-time to fill, there will be plenty of room for the former WWE champion to make an appearance.

Let's take a look at three possible ways The Rock could get involved at WrestleMania 34 this Sunday night.

#1 The Rock Concert

The Rock loves appearing at WrestleMania, and while many fans would love to see him getting involved in a match, or even compete himself on Sunday night, it seems more likely that The Rock will just take part in some sort of extended cameo.

The perfect opportunity, looking at the card, for such a cameo would be during Elias' performance. While this hasn't been officially announced as part of the show, Elias stated his intentions to perform on this week's Raw, and with him not having anything else to do on the card, this makes perfect sense.

The Rock loves a good concert, so having him bring his guitar and join Elias in the ring would make for excellent viewing. Hell, why not roll out The Honky Tonk Man and have a full-blown concert, just please keep Kid Rock away from the ring.

Of course, after performing for a few minutes, The Rock could always hit a Rock Bottom on Elias to close the segment and give the fans a big pop. Elias proved at Raw 25 that he can hang in the ring with some of the company's best talkers, and The Rock could provide him with a big rub on the grandest stage of them all.

#2 Ronda Rousey's Match

Could The Rock and Ronda Rousey finish what they started three years ago?

When Ronda Rousey arrived in the WWE, initial rumors suggested that she could be teaming up with The Rock to take on the team of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

These rumors died down fairly quickly however when it became apparent that The Rock was not available to compete at the show and that Kurt Angle would be teaming with Rousey instead.

Generally speaking, the decision to put Angle with Rousey has been very well received, and the former WWE champion will no doubt help her look great in her debut on Sunday night. That being said, there is a large portion of the WWE universe that would still love to see The Rock get involved with this match in one way or another.

There is still a chance that The Rock could get involved in the match somehow though. Triple H has never been one to shy away from being controversial in the ring, and with Rousey and Angle dominating, all it would take would be for Triple H to go to use his sledgehammer on Rousey to inspire The Rock to rundown and get involved.

The only real issue with doing this is that it might damage Rousey a little if her victory is not clean, and it plays into a woman needing to be saved by a man narrative, which the company have done a great job of avoiding over the last few years.

The other option, of course, is for The Rock to simply come to the ring to either stop a post-match attack or celebrate with Rousey and Angle, bringing the storyline which started three years ago at WrestleMania 31 full circle.

#3 The Main Event

Will the WWE try a re-run of the ill fated 2015 Royal Rumble finish?
Will the WWE try a re-run of the ill-fated 2015 Royal Rumble finish?

The Rock has plenty of history with both men competing in what is likely to be Sunday night's main event. The Rock and Brock Lesnar have only met once in the ring before, with Lesnar coming out on top to win his first WWE title at Summerslam 2002. Whereas The Rock and Reigns have family ties, with the two men being cousins.

This could lead to The Rock getting himself involved in the match between the two men on Sunday night, whether it is during, or after the match. The Rock could help his cousin out as Lesnar brutalises him with the referee down, or he could simply distract 'The Beast', allowing Reigns to pick up the win.

This could set up a blockbuster match between Brock Lesnar and The Rock later down the line. Providing Brock stays with the WWE, which is still very much unknown.

Again, another option here would be for The Rock to come down to the ring and celebrate with 'The Big Dog' after his win. The company have tried this once before, however, at the infamous 2015 Royal Rumble, and it is difficult to see the reaction being all that different this time around.
