3 ways The Undertaker could influence WWE at RAW 25th anniversary

The Undertaker returns to WWE at RAW's 25th anniversary edition

The Undertaker will appear at the 25th anniversary edition of Monday Night RAW in January.

Well, given The Deadman’s penchant for doing the unthinkable and January being the Royal Rumble/Road To Wrestlemania season, it’d be folly to think that he won’t impact any of the WWE’s major storylines from that point going forward.

"The Phenom" was last seen at the Showcase of the Immortals in April of this year—a losing effort to Roman Reigns, following which he put down his iconic gear in the middle of the ring. So how exactly could the Undertaker influence the WWE upon his return?

#3 There can be only one true conqueror

It was at Wrestlemania XXX that Brock Lesnar broke The Undertaker’s legendary ‘Mania win-streak, becoming the first person to ever best "The Deadman" on the grandest stage of them all. Fast-forward three years, and the WWE’s Big Dog earned a similar honour, by pinning ‘Taker at ‘Mania XXXIII.

Now that the WWE is rumoured to be pitting the two conquerors of The Undertaker against one another at next year’s edition of Wrestlemania, it seems only fitting for their feud to be kick-started by none other than "The Deadman" himself. The Undertaker could possibly insert himself into the upcoming program between Lesnar and Reigns, building up to WM 34 in New Orleans.

Perhaps, much like Shawn Michaels served as the Special Guest Referee for Undertaker’s Hell In A Cell match against Triple H at WM 28, "The Deadman"—after steadily helping marinate the Lesnar vs Reigns feud—can officiate the match at ‘Mania next year.

Of course, the WWE has to make their move come January 22nd at the 25th anniversary of RAW—a time when the show is guaranteed to garner a considerable amount of interest from all avenues.

#2 Brothers Monster of Destruction

Speaking of ‘marinating’, let’s go back to that one time Undertaker held his ground inside the squared circle, with a certain Monster Among Men staring him down, but refraining from launching an attack on the Deadman. Goosebumps!

Well, the WWE seems to have now put Braun Strowman into a feud with Undertaker’s kayfabe brother Kane, with the younger monster likely going over the Devil’s Favourite Demon.

Honestly speaking, this is an excellent move on part of the WWE, and Strowman would benefit even more should they choose to extend the Kane-Braun program until Wrestlemania 34 or even Fastlane 2018, so to speak.

Considering the fact that The Undertaker is scheduled to appear on the RAW 25th anniversary episode, he could most definitely align himself with his brother, helping the Big Red Machine handle the younger, faster, stronger Monster Among Men. The Brothers of Destruction reuniting would make for great TV and the WWE knows it!

Besides, they can have Kane do all the in-ring work against Strowman, with ‘Taker only appearing sporadically in classic Deadman style. One can easily imagine the lights going out during a Kane-Strowman showdown in the episodes that ensue, and The Undertaker appearing outta’ nowhere, delivering a tombstone from hell on Strowman.

#1 ABA

The Undertaker could make a huge impact on WWE's future as the American Badass
The Undertaker could make a huge impact on WWE's future as the American Badass

One of the WWE’s best decisions was to reinvent the Undertaker back in the day repackaging him in the American Badass (ABA) gimmick.

Mark Calaway could cut longer, arguably better promos owing to the freedom he was accorded in the ABA gimmick, given the fact that unlike his ‘Deadman’ version ,the American Badass didn’t have to portray someone who symbolizes the undead! The Undertaker could come down to the ring on his classic American chopper, proceeding to cut a promo like the true blue-blooded biker he is.

Now, this is why going with ABA ‘Taker can prove to be gold for the WWE…Should the Undertaker appear as his good ol’ biker self at RAW’s 25th anniversary episode, they could comfortably use him in a non-wrestling role, simply to promote fights and build future Superstars much like they did ‘The Macho Man’ Randy Savage, using the late-great as a WWF commentator back in the day.

Furthermore, given the WWE’s penchant for roping in legends on its flagship television show, and having legendary figures rub off some of their charisma and appeal on the up and coming stars, The Undertaker in his ABA version would be an excellent authority figure on WWE programming.

In fact, the WWE could use Biker ‘Taker in the aforementioned authority figure role—commencing on the 25th anniversary RAW—having him use his significant clout on-screen as well as when it comes to helping the young guns hone their talent behind the scenes.

The American Badass could set the professional wrestling scene on fire, should Vince McMahon and co. decide to present The Undertaker in that persona once again. After all, one must never say never, when to comes to professional wrestling!
