3 ways WWE is bracing up for possibly competing with All Elite Wrestling

Certainly, WWE is not All In for All Elite Wrestling!
Certainly, WWE is not All In for All Elite Wrestling!

After winning the Monday Night Wars against WCW, the WWE has been the monopoly in the professional wrestling industry. They haven't faced any legitimate threats to their place in the market after the purchase of WCW and ECW.

Even with promotions like Impact, ROH, and NJPW trying their best to compete with the WWE, Vince McMahon & co have managed to retain their place at the top of the mountain.

But Vince McMahon is not a person who underestimates his competition. He always keeps an eye out for the product of his opponents, and tries to implement something new to keep his fan base.

All Elite Wrestling is no different, and the WWE will closely monitor every move the new promotion makes. The company has already taken up a defensive position to prevent the fans from jumping ship to All Elite Wrestling.

Recent happenings prove that the WWE is focusing on these three things to brace themselves up for competing with AEW, how about we take a closer look?

#3 Preventing their superstars from going to AEW

The news going around the internet is that the contracts offered by AEW are very similar to the ones given by the WWE. These are very great times for the professional wrestlers, as the top companies are paying good money to sign them.

The best thing the WWE could do is focus on keeping their current superstars from going to AEW, rather than looking to sign new ones. It seems like that’s precisely the way WWE is thinking right now.

The current rumors are that the WWE is not looking to release any superstars from their contracts any-time soon, to prevent them from going to the new promotion.

#2 Pushing top babyfaces

The main thing the McMahon family promised the fans when they took over both Raw and SmackDown Live a few weeks ago was to give the fans what they want.

The satisfaction of the fans was a big area of concern in the WWE for the past few years. The company’s decision to push Roman Reigns as the top babyface of the company was not well received by the fans.

The fans were always vocal over their dissatisfaction with the shows, and that has been one of the main reasons behind the fans switching to other promotions. With AEW looking to get as much viewers as possible, the best thing to do is give the fans what they want by pushing their favourite superstars.

That could be the reason behind Finn Balor getting a Universal title match against Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.

#1 Re-introducing Attitude Era style segments

It's been so long since we've seen such segments
It's been so long since we've seen such segments

If you had watched this week’s episodes of Raw and SmackDown Live, you would’ve realized that two segments resembled those from the Attitude Era.

Ever since WWE went PG, we haven’t seen such segments on Raw or SmackDown Live. But the other promotions have proven that they can promote progressive women’s wrestling by sticking to the old style.

The Alexa Bliss and Mandy Rose segments from Raw and SmackDown Live were two of the most watched videos on the WWE’s YouTube channel this week. Even the brawl between AJ Styles & Daniel Bryan, and the revealing of the women’s tag titles got fewer views compared to the Alexa Bliss & Mandy Rose videos.

Bringing back the Attitude Era style segments is an indicator that the WWE is desperate to keep the eyes of the fans on their shows, preventing them from switching over to AEW.
