Shayna Baszler is certainly one of the best candidates to beat Ronda Rousey for the first time. She is the current NXT women's champion and is one of the most established female stars on the brand. While she is yet to make her main roster debut, there is every chance that she could be the one to stop Rousey when she does.

Like Rousey, Baszler's background is also in MMA, and the two women are both apart of the historic 'four horsewomen of MMA' group. She fought for numerous MMA promotions before she decided to become a pro wrestler, and as a matter of fact, she also worked for the UFC, though, she failed to make the same kind of impact as Rousey.

Baszler started her pro wrestling career in 2015 and has found almost instantaneous success. She quickly made a name for herself on the indie circuit, before signing for the WWE in 2016.
She has already won the NXT women's title twice, as well as making the final of the inaugural Mae Young Classic. She should definitely be considered one of the favorites to hand Rousey her first defeat when she arrives on the main roster.
