3 wrestlers WWE can't afford to lose to AEW

WWE made a big mistake a long time ago by letting Cody Rhodes go, as he became a sensation on the independent scene. Along with the Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes is gearing up to start a new wrestling promotion called All Elite Wrestling.

AEW has already announced a few big-name signings in the form of Adam Hangman Page, Chris Jericho, and PAC who was known as Neville in WWE. Jericho is arguably the biggest signing by AEW. Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks put on the All-In event which was one of the most successful wrestling events the Independent scene has ever seen.

Rhodes and the Young Bucks know how to put together a wrestling event, but running a wrestling promotion is an entirely different game. Without a strong roster and enough commercially viable names like Chris Jericho, AEW could potentially face an uphill battle if they intend to take on the might of the WWE in future.

There would be nothing quite like poaching a few wrestlers from Vince McMahon's company.

Here are 3 wrestlers WWE can't afford to lose to AEW.

#3 Finn Balor

It isn't often you get to see a former Universal Champion become a mid-card superstar on Raw as quickly as Finn Balor has. After winning the Universal Championship, a poorly timed injury has left him wallowing in the mid-card for over a year.

Balor is a bona fide star, but WWE has stripped him of everything that makes him special. it seems like Balor is in line for a push in 2019, that's some amount of course correction, but he still isn't being treated like the star he should be. Balor is one of the most respected stars on the independent scene, and he is also a draw in WWE.

Balor may be tempted to move to AEW in order to be treated like the megastar he should be, but letting the Demon King go could prove to be a massive mistake for Vince McMahon's company. If AEW can capitalize on Balor's marketability, he could easily become the face of AEW.

#2 The Revival

Regardless of how badly WWE has handled The Revival on the main Roster, the duo is without a doubt the future of the tag-team wrestling division.

Their wrestling skill would be enough to take the tag-team division to the top. The company can't afford to allow The Revival jump to AEW, because if they are allowed, then with The Young Bucks there is no doubt that AEW would be home to the finest tag team wrestling in the world.

It's unlikely that would be a risk WWE would be willing to take. Even if the company doesn't see it yet, The Revival is just too good and they can't afford to lose them to a rival promotion.

#1 AJ Styles

AJ Styles has wrestled pretty much everywhere in the world, and he has dominated everywhere. He is a two time WWE Champion and is the face of SmackDown Live.

There is no doubt that AJ is one of WWE's biggest stars, and the company would hate to lose him to any other promotion. That's precisely why Rhodes and The Young Bucks might be so tempted to take Styles away from Vince McMahon just to prove that they mean business.

WWE can't afford the loss, and AEW should probably do everything they can to get him.
